I loved my epidural! It made the world of difference! I still felt pressure and when I had to push it lasted an hour and a half which although was not painful it was absolutely exhausting. I tore a little and didn't even feel any of that, so the epidural was amazing, I think it helped me to enjoy the process more because I was not mad, I wasn't in ridiculous pain and i was able to relax at times which helped since I was in labor for about a day.

Well mine was back labour, and it was the worst pain I'd ever felt. I was having normal contractions sometimes and hardly even noticed them. I was in tears when I got to L&D and was begging for them to make it stop. With each contraction I would get nauseated, dizzy and things would go black for a minute. It didn't help that I was tensing up with each one and not breathing.

My husband was very supportive. He would help me get around the house, rub my back and hold me when I was feeling horrible. Granted, he did get frustrated at times, but it's understandable. There wasn't anything he could do to help me feel better, not to mention it gets tiring listening to someone complain for 9 months or get sick all the time. :)

As for the epidural, I had intended to go natural but decided to leave options open and for me it worked well. The pain wasn't anything I could bear and I was already exhausted. I had been having contractions all day and night and hadn't eaten anything or hardly slept. So for me I got it and was able to get a little bit of sleep which I needed to push. I would say to keep an open mind about it. Some can handle it well. For me I couldn't.

Hello! My pregnancy was rough, but easy in some aspects. I had Hyperemesis and was vomiting and nauseated my entire pregnancy and lost a decent amount of weight. I also became anemic at some point because I was having trouble keeping down my prenatals and everything else. Overall I didn't really have too many other problems. They suspected my baby was tiny because at 33 weeks my fundal height was only measuring to be 27 weeks, but the ultrasound showed she was perfectly fine. I went into labour at 39 weeks, and active labour lasted for over 24 hours. I had back labour, and didn't know at first if it was the real thing or not. I had started to get bloody discharge later than night, and after a few hours tried to take a bath. My husband sat with me for 2 hours timing contractions and at that point they were coming every 1-3 minutes and lasting for 30 seconds to 1 minute 30 seconds each. I got to the hospital and was checked and the doctor said I was 4-5 cm dilated and fully effaced. Got an epidural and slept for a little bit. When I was 9 cm they broke my water and immediately I went to 10 cm and my body started to push on its own. Epidural wore off about 15 minutes into pushing, and it was super hard to get her head out. She was side ways and every time I got close to pushing her nose out it burned horribly. (I later learned this is the "ring of fire") After about an hour and 45 minutes I finally got her out. Tore in two places, and was fully healed in 2 weeks.
