I have SVT and inappropriate sinus tachycardia and 26 weeks pregnant. I have a cardiologist who says it wont harm me at all and a midwife who says it won't harm the baby. I want to give birth naturally and was told that I can naturally deliver as long as I don't have a palpitation. But if I do get one during the stress of labor, they have to give me an epidural. Double check with your cardiologost though. Maybe they'll have a different view.

Also doctor said I can probably breastfeed but I will have to discuss that with the pediatrician.

I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and I have friends that have several friends with it also and they have children. Your pregnancy will probably be high risk though. An epidural can obviously make your heart rate increase so there could be complications but I know several that have an epidural and also some that their doctors said it wouldn't be safe. Basically depends on your doctor and if are willing to take the risk of the epidural. I've been on birth control before and it was safe for me but you will need to ask your doctor. I am currently taking metoprolol and the doctor said it is class c which means they don't know if it will hurt the baby. My doc said normally he would have people stop taking it but in my case and probably yours you can be on it just realize the side effects can be low birth weight in baby and obviously the baby will have a lower heart rate because of it. I've been pregnant twice and sadly miscarried both but my doctor said it was not because of POTS. He thinks it was due to chromosome defects in the baby which are common. I don't have a limit on how many I can have. Once I have a successful pregnancy, we will weight the complications I had in pregnancy due to POTS and see if I want to do it again.
