I'm a 20 year old college student from Canada, taking nursing for my RN degree...in the midst of finding out if im pregnant, really actually now kind of looking forward to it, and preparing, even with the urine test negative i have all the symptoms, and phantom pregnanc... [More] y isnt an option because some of these symptoms i hadnt even believed were related til reading different sites, stll waiting for my blood test to come back, have previously had two positive hpts but we will see, iguess some women can have low hCK for 5/6 months before finding out that they were indeed pregnant, gotta follow that unbelievable intuition gotta look at my pregnancy growth pics and tell me if this growth is phantom, bloating or pregnancy...lol we all know what i think....do you know what they will do if urines negative and blood positive... lol i have had to conceive around new years eve that was the only time ive had unprotected sex for sure....prayers ttc luv
I have a hard time believing a student becoming an RN does not use her available resources to research pregnancy. Check out this following chart:
It shows the HCG levels in pregnancy, how they vary, and when you're most likely to know when you can have a positive pregnancy test. It is RARE for a woman to be pregnant and not know until 4-5 months because of a HPT. Most of the time this happens it is due to ectopic pregnancy.
yes, a blood test to be sure. have you missed a period/s? you shouldn't have too low of an hCG count to come up on an HPT up to 4-5 months, that's not normal, as joy said.. and if you are not pregnant, you need to get that checked out, it could be something as serious as internal bleeding, causing all of that swelling, get to a doctor... but you could be pregnant... and if you have had two positive hpt's, then you ARE pregnant..by now it should show up on hpt's, and you should have missed probably two periods by now if you conceived on new years eve.. so what's the big inconclusive here? what are you confused about? are you just having a hard time believing you're pregnant? i'm confused... lol
btw, you also seem rather big for being so soon... at 10 weeks, you shouldn't even be showing yet.. unless it's a subsequent pregnancy... although every pregnancy is different, it seems awful early for you to be that big... but who knows! good luck.
I am so sorry for all of your troubles. When you got the blood test did they say anything about your belly? I agree with the other posts that you seem really big for 10 weeks, most people don't even show yet at 10 weeks. The one of my good friends just had her second baby and she wasn't that big till around 24 weeks...at 19 weeks is when she first recognized her growing tummy as an actual bump, but it still wasn't even as pronounced as yours. Maybe everyone is just different...or Maybe something is wrong? I would get it checked out as soon as possible, especially if the blood test results that you get back are negative. Good luck with everything...my hopes and prayers and with you! And if you are preggo...be sure to let us know so we can send you our congrats!
over the past few weeks i have been very shocked about how little some of the nurses know about pregnancy related issues unless they are trained specificily for maternity. maybe it is how they're trained in canada, i have a few RN friends and they always seem to be going on specific training courses for what department they are in and have seen some nurses even refuse to work the mat floor because they weren't trained to help with breastfeeding...everything is so political about who can do what
I'm an Orthopedic/Neurology RN and honestly know very liitle about maternity issues. When I was going thru my missed M/C and D&C, my OB office treated me as though I knew everything...I finally had to tell them to please treat me as though I was a garbage man, b/c I don't know anything about it....The nurse there laughed and saidthst she understood and that if someone broke their hip or had a stroke, she wouldn't know anything either, whereas I do! Although I do have a maternity book from college, it's outdated and not very user friendly, and doesn't give real life info., only the facts...That's why I like this forum, it's real stories and real symptoms, not just text book.
I was 9 1/2 weeks with twins when i lost them and was nowhere near your size. I hope that this is a pregnancy and not something else, b/c you look like a small person and you're all belly......When you had bloodwork done, did a MD see you? I'm just curious b/c I'm hoping that this is isn't something else..
could she just be bloated and pushing her tummy out? i am naturally very thin, but have a talent where i can bulge out my tummy! i will say, that i am in my 14th week and not nearly that big. of course, i am 5'8. maybe she is very very short...??? i haven't a clue... i am confused.
when i was pregnant there was another girl at work who was due the same week as me (actually thee was 3 of us all due the same week at work) at 10 weeks she looked like she was 6 months, the sent her for an u/s at 12 weeks to check for twins but there was just 1.
i also have a friend who at 3 months looked like she was 8 months along, everyone is different with pregnancys. i think i read another post from her that says she took an htp and got a +..guess we will see!
If you look at the pics on her profile that is not 10 weeks along, I'm sorry, not with how thin she looks...I am thin and people said I looked like I was having twins but that was not until later...especially with a neg test at the doc office and no doc was concerned about that??????????????????????????
future reference folks real women can be large when their pregnant even the thin ones and feel comfy and not offended by forever skinny women check out this site it shows real womens beauty who consume halves of cakes because their baby wanted it lol and but maternity pants a lil soon lol its gorgeous http://pregnancy.baby-gaga.com/photos/model1336
Thanks for your information. I know my mom became an RN when I was in highschool but I didn't know what much about her schooling. She became a Neuro Nurse (for lack of knowing what else it was called?). She also did Electro-Neuro Diagnostic Tech. Anyway, I see your point. That's why it's important to discuss nutrition with a nutritionist and not a doctor because they only have a handful of credit hours in nutrition.
Again thank you for your clarification. I wasn't trying to sound like a jerk, I just didn't understand! LOL!
Hey, i actually found this site months ago and then forgot about it!
I agree that everyone should lay off the judgment... you don't know anything for sure, and neither does she yet... so be nice!! especially those saying you don't believe her.. that's an awful lot of trouble to go through just to be a fake on here for no reason... have some compassion, although i did also find this a bit troubling, we won't know for sure what's up until those blood tests come back..
Which by the way, when are you expecting the results?
One thing that I'm not sure if everyone understands is that 'doylekarly' is from Canada and their healthcare is far different than ours in the states! They have universal healthcare and that might sound great to some people BUT it isn't what it is all cracked up to be. Patients often go without treatment for extensive periods of time due to an overload in the system. Also, they do the bare minimum that they can get away with. I'm not trying to knock the system BUT I have a very dear friend who moved to Canada and she was in absolute shock with how minimal their services are. After I found out that she was in Canada, the lack of an ultrasound made perfect sense although here in the states this would have been done a long time ago to confirm pregnancy and or see what was causing all the bloating. I agree with KStarr07...
Hahah, well the second you get to a computer, you let us know!! I'm almost sure you'll be getting a positive... and what sweetangel7 said, would also make sense with the negative urine test at the doctor, with the nurse maybe messing it up and your uring being more diluted... it's all probable, so i believe what you're saying, and i also am thinking we'll hear a BFP tomorrow after you get home. :]
by the way, sck08, what do you mean "scanned off the internet" ?? it looks to me like she used the "Prt Scrn" button on her keyboard with a webcam for these photos and the main one on her profile shows her AND her belly..
sweetangel is right...unless you have a major problem you don't get much attention. no u/s until you are 20weeks. they didn't even do a blood tes on me, said that if i had a positive hpt that i was preggo. There is now a 3d/4d ultrasound clinic in the city people tend to go there to find out the sex of the baby as most hosptials won't tell you what you're having. the wait times are crazy...almost a year for a MRI were i live, so now a few private clinics are popping up, we have 1 in our province were you can pay and have your mri for $700, i'd do it in a heartbeat if i had something wrong with me. Myfriend in a RN and does a chemotherapy clinic and had seen soooo many people die because of our healthcare system. they wouldn't put my dad on the list ofr knee replacement until he was 50 (needed it at 45) and then it took him 2 years to get it.
the doc called and told my mom that i needed to call back in the morning asap didnt reveal anything of results or nothing its all confidential but just to call him back, she just wondered what was up and why would the doc call and with my ever growing belly its getting obvious lol yay though :D
her posts do seem suspicious....but it is possible to have a belly at 10 wks. i had a "pouch" at 6 weeks. of course i am having twins....and the woman in my family bloat or get bigger early, slow down for a bit, then get huge. so it IS possible. i'm only getting to 11 weeks here in a day or two and i definately have a belly.
but i've been reading her posts and she is rather confusing.
I completely agree with the confusing part...I hate it when people just post without proof reading and abbreviate things that they shouldn't (you know besides the obvious like TTC LOL etc.) and don't use punctuation between sentences. I don't know...I guess it's just my pet peeve. I would think if you wanted help you would type clearly and concisely in order to get you question across and get the best responses possible. If she lives with her mom and her belly is that big, why hasn't her mom said anything? My mom would flip out. Her stomach seems smaller in the pictures with her face in them...I don't know. I feel bad saying anything if it is all true...It's just irritating me for some reason. I guess I am just in a bad mood because my grandmother died...on top of my body going crazy....
Its ok Rese85, im way confused too! But about the belly thing, I had a belly at nine weeks and it is my first shild and the doctor thought i was having twins because I was sooo big and shouldn't have been showing. Well we came to find out my belly was so big because I worked out all the time, so i showed sooner, and our baby is really long... 5 inches ahead of schedule to be exact. But anyways i've read both of her posts and i'm so lost, one thing contradicts th other, and i really hate the idea of fake psters because then nobody will know whther something is ever true or not and i would hate for someone to think that about me!!!!
I know!!! I feel the same way! I came onto this forum I think about the same time as her, and I have read posts from ladies that think there are more fakers on here...and I just hope they don't think I'm one!! I feel so comfortable posting here now, and everyone is so nice...and I have gotten some great answers to my questions!
I feel bad, I just left a kinda mean comment on her photo...I don't know why this is irritating me so much. I couldn't help myself. Yesterday or the day before is when she was posting that she was 10w 5d...and now suddenly she is posting a pic that is 11w 2d...I don't get it. Also she said she had sex, not conceived, on Jan 1st... and it hasn't even been TEN weeks since then.
Okay, after doing some intense investigation here's my conclusion...
Those pictures that are bundled together from 6 weeks to 10weeks, is not this person. If you look closely at the 6 week picture you can see her hair comes down to her boobs and the other pictures of her face, her hair only comes down to her shoulders. I know, people can get hair cuts, but if you also look at the belly from 9 weeks to 10 weeks....she has freckles/moles where she doesn't in another one.....
hahah...I am doing the same thing! Another person said that it was the same person because the furniture was the same...but I noticed that it furniture was only the same in each group of pictures that had the same clothes on...I dunno...it seems like she is bigger in earlier weeks then she is now. In the pic she has now she looks like she is just sticking her stomach out.
I agree - this is ridiculous - why would someone go through all this trouble to start something like this? I too left a not so nice comment under one of her pics - I feel kinda bad, but this just doesn't make any sense. I myself get a ver large belly very quickly when I am preggo - happened both times. I am in maternity clothes by 8 weeks. But if you look at her pics her belly just starts in the middle of her abdomen. your uterus doesn't reach that high for a long time. my belly always starts off low.
well, i've a history of giving people the benefit of the doubt, and she and i were talking via messages while these posts were being made on this thread... which helped to 'clear up' some of the questions i had.. but now i just don't know! i mean, especially since she has yet to say anything in response, after some 26 hours...
and i was actually just telling her why people are sometimes supsicious of people on here, because we lend our attention, time, and caring, to people who aren't even real.. now, eh.. i don't know!!! there is not even a picture of her and her boyfriend TOGETHER yet.. but she said she was going to get new pictures.... i guess we shall see what happens...
and the 'reason' for the change in dates was supposedly because i asked, well.. when was your last period, so she counted from then, rather than on new years....
i don't know about this msyelf, either.... we'll see!

You can tell that some of her photos were taken up close and others were taken further back. Your investigative work has been funny to me.
When a person wants something SO BAD your mind will convince you that it's truly happening. I have seen MANY posts on this forum of people (some who have been around for MONTHS) who are experiencing what they THINK are pregnancy symptoms that turn out to be just symptoms of other things, like the obvious menstrual cycle symptoms.
If I were the OP I would not return to only be bashed and made fun of by you people either.
