pregnant on vicodin

I have really bad back problems & migraines. I have been taking Vicodin on and off for 5 yrs. Also Soma (muscle relaxer)350 mg x2.......Not helping anymore..... Its to the point now where 2 750mg vicodin dont work AT ALL! I was given a oxycotin (percocet) 10mg/650 and same thing not working. Can you build up such a high immunity that these strong narcotics fail to work. To make matters worse am 6 wks preg., with # 4. Number 3 was born at 25 wks. weighing 1lb. 8oz. Should I not take anything????? Well obviously now being preg. But after. What if I have a c-section again. They wont give me strong enough meds???????

Don't take the tylenol at the same time as the vicodin or percocet!! You can also alternate ibuprofen with the vicodin, that seems to help with pain because they are two different types of pain relievers.  But you should probably try to stop taking them or talk to your doctor about it because you are pregnant. Once your not on the pain meds for a while, if you get a c-section, your body will react normally to the pain killers. Good luck with your pregnancy and I hope your back/headaches don't get the best of you.

i would suggest stop taking those drugs take tylenol. that might not help but it is better for the baby.  or you can try taking hot baths or something just stop takingf those habit forming drugs and yes after you take a specific med. for a long period of time they stop working . if those dont work go back to doctor to see if there is any other alternative that he or she can prescribe. goodluck and have a healthy pregnancy.

I know that you can take vicodin in a small amount when you are pregnant. However its not good to take a large dose all of the time.
