Thanks JoyRenee,
You are so right, stay clear of what you see on random message boards. You have found some interesting information. I don't know why I can't seem to find anything like that. I did find that site that said that a normal unassisted pregnancy is usually between 40-50. That's what made me so nervous. The fact that she is assisted, and is at 31.9.
Well, she does have an ultrasound tomorrow, so I will know soon enough if there are still two in there. She is going to stay on her progesterone until about 12 1/2 weeks, I guess she should still be ok since the placenta should definitely take over at that point.
Thanks for looking into it for me. That's great.
I found yet another, more scientific site, that said around 30+ is normal in twin pregnancy. Just keep googling and searching but stick to the more commendable sites and steer clear from answers on message boards because those are opinions and not scientific research.
I found this on another site:
Progesterone levels vary considerably from cycle to cycle and woman to woman, both non-pregnant and pregnant. So the levels can only be averages and they change with the timing of the cycle. In general, the midluteal (middle of the second half of the cycle) progesterone in a non-pregnant patient is 8 to 10, but can be as high as 20 ng/ml. In a pregnancy cycle, it should be greater than 10 to 12 ng/ml to have a better chance of a good pregnancy outcome, but in general, we like to see 16 or over.
If the levels were low, the doctors would've increased her progesterone. Unassisted progesterone levels in twin pregnancies (according to a website I found) should be between 40-50.
