question about decreasing movment/changes

My next OB appointment is tomorrow so not far off... But over the last 48 hours my babys movement has decreased quite a bit and changed.. I still feel movements.. I havent fully counted but I counted 9 this AM and a couple more since being at work..  the kicks are less strong, some just feel like the baby shifting and rubbing....  but they are fewer and further in between and alot lighter than what i was used to...

Should I be worried.. I know that space could be getting tight.. i am approaching 27 weeks and have shown significant growth over the past week...  Baby still has a strong HB but it says no to rely on that alone...  movements have come and gone before and I am still feeling the baby move... I guess I am wondering if I should be worried if it seems like the movements are getting weaker....  I will see my ob tomorrow.

Glad to hear everything came out great! My midwife told me the same thing - 10 movements in 4 hours. Most babies make 10 movements in like 2 minutes, ha ha! Anytime you feel like you've been too busy to notice if baby is moving or not do as NicMom suggested and eat/drink something and lay down. Most likely you'll feel little one wake up and start to wiggle around!

Well, my babies kicks get harder and stronger as they get bigger and stronger.  But again, all babies are different.  It still sounds like you are having regular movements and your baby has a strong heartbeat, so that all sounds good.  I am glad you were able to see your doctor though, and get your concerns heard.

They're not likely to feel as quick or hard. You gotta remember how cramped things get in there, and baby won't be able to move as freely as it did once--they're also only going to get more cramped. If your showing a strong heartbeat and you still have moments, I wouldn't worry.

I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow wait or today, anyhow I've noticed the same thing. Movements are less like little kicks and more like rolls and flips now. I think it's a space issue. When he really gets going I can watch my belly rise and fall as he moves around it's cool/creepy at the same time.

If you want to get the baby to start moving around so you can do a kick count try drinking some cold orange juice and then lying down on your left side.

My placenta is not anterior but the baby could be facing the back...  i am still feeling lots of movements... i did mention it today and my doctor told me to start doing the kick counts (since im 27 weeks), she said 6-8 movements should be felt in a 2 hour period and at least 10 should be felt over 4 hours ....  She said if I cant feel that many then to go in to get assessed....

So i will start doing that.. I was counting since I left her office and felt over what would have been expected in the 4 hours so I am just going to keep monitoring for now...  its been about 1 hour

While I was at hte office waiting (first break i had today)... I wasnt counting but there were several moments..... Ill do another count when I get home from the prenatal class...

its always worrying but I mean I can see the movements still they just dont feel as quick and hard.. baby is getting less jerky maybe...?  I just felt and watched two while typing this sentence...
Still has a strong Hb of 153....

You should mention it but my babies always go through a more "quiet time" around 28-30 weeks. Most likely they're having a growth spurt, much like they will do when they're born and they may sleep more and/or eat more during those spurts. ANY movement (even the bumps and rubs) count for your fetal movement counting. Baby could be facing your back so you're not feeling movement as much as before.

If you have anterior placenta is this also VERY normal. The placenta is in the front of your belly taking a lot of the blows. I have had anterior placenta with every pregnancy, however this baby boy is definitely stronger or at least more "kicky" than his sisters were because they mostly just rolled and jabbed me; never had super big kicks with them like I do with him.

You should be able to feel about 10 movements every two hours. I would mention something to my doctor.

I would def mention it.  I am approaching 34 weeks and have a VERY active baby.  It literally hurts.  I have heard about babies becoming less active the further along you get, but have also read, that that isn't true and that they should stay pretty active the entire time.  This is my 7th baby and I NEVER have had a baby's activity level go down.  But I do have unusually active babies, in the womb.  Mine can move almost constantly for several hours.  It's crazy.  I have yet to figure out what in the world there is to do in there :)

So, I am not saying that you should be worried, as all babies are different.  But I would def mention any worries you have to your doctor.  I am a "better to be safe than sorry" kind of girl.  Mine get particularly active after I eat.  Also drinking something cold and/or w/ sugar (like orange juice maybe), might help get that baby moving.

i continue to have on and off again movements throughout the day... I guess ill mention it tomorrow at my appointment.. I think i just got so used to craziness that was going in there for so many days...

my baby was really crazy at 22 weeks too then slowed down at 23 weeks until 25 weeks..  then it went crazy again at 25 weeks until 26 weeks 4 days.

it must be a space thing because right now i can see the baby trying to move more but kind of just looks like its spreading knees or throwing some elbows who knows....

Hey hun. I wouldn't be too concerned with it at this time because I have been going through it for over a month. The Dr just keeps telling me she is getting more cramped and that she is now having regular sleep cycles. I know that when I am a little constipated it seems to lessen her movements also so maybe try drinking a little fruit juice and laying on your left side. Also if you get really nervous there are a few other things to try, a warm bath, laptop on belly, music close to belly ( I put music on my phone and put it right up to my belly), and if all else fails take a belt and put it around your belly (not tight but enough for baby to feel). Everytime I go into the hospital with her not moving, they put the belts on to monitor and she goes crazy lol. Let me know how it goes.

No I don't think you have anything to worry about. It does get pretty cramped in there.
When I was pregnant, I noticed the same thing the further I got along in my pregnancy. And he was a healthy baby boy

If you are concerned, then definitely mention it to your OB tomorrow when you go.
