questions about hormones and period symptoms..

Ok, so here is my current situation. My last period was September 12, 2007. I thought I was supposed to be ovulation on the 26th, but according to my ovulation calendar, I ovulated on the 29th...Now, I thought I was due tomorrow (10th) for my period, but the calander says I am due the 13th. I understand this is just a computer and that you should use an ovulation predictor kit, but I am going off of that. In any event, I have been having sore nipples,boobs...tired..constantly, slight nausea...but this could also be attributed to period symptoms.
I took a hpt, yesterday and it was neg. My question is, can you have preg symptoms even if there aren't enough hormome levels to show up on a hpt? I thought that increasing amounts of hormones are what brings on the preg symptoms? So is it most likely period symptoms?

This will be my 2nd child. My daughter is 8 and I was 2months when I got a pos preg test with her. But I was also 19 and didn't think to check earlier. I just rememer "Feeling It"...and I ran to the store and bought one...lol...and sure enough, pos.

I guess I am just trying to rationalize the symptoms. THinking if I am not late yet, and having symptoms...then its gotta be the period...but time will tell huh?? thanks so much..

Yeah, but if it were too early, then why would I be having symptoms? I know its not in my head,, so I am thinking its period symptoms? Is is possible to have pregnancy symptoms and not have enough hormomes to give a pos preg test?

Definatly could be to early  BFN is Big Fat Neg and BFP is Big Fat Pos.  I hope you get a BFP......If you are TTC maybe you should use OPK (uvulation prediction kits)  they are very helpful.  I just had a MC so I had no clue when I would get AF or O or anything so I used them and I just O Saturday which was day 43 after my MC so I'm in the TWW now I'm really excited I'm hoping to get a BFP again.

If you dont mind me asking, what is a BFN....I hear everyone referring to it.

Also, thanks for the sweet post. I think that maybe because I want it so badly, I was making myself believe I was. Then once I got the neg hpt, I made myself beleive Im not. I know you can't know until you get a yes from either a hpt or a dr...but who knows.

My boobs were soo sore the last couple days and now not so much. This leads me to think its my period. But I have been feeling dizzy, nausea, tired, cramping (lower ab cramping)...I know these symptoms are there and I am not making them up....I am certain...but it is so close to my period and that is when I usually get symptoms, so I think that is it....Plus I am really not sure at all when I ovulated. All I know is when my last period was and my cycle is usually 30-32 days....so I guess I have to wait some more. I just dont want to wake up to AF...

Oh yeah you could definatly be having preg. symptoms and a neg HPT  I was almost 8 weeks with my first pregnancy before I got a + HPT.  Some women their HCG levels rise at a slower rate and don't show on HPT's as easily.  So don't give up if you get a BFN.....Good luck and don't worry about posting to much I don't think anyone minds I don't I do the same thing if I have an issue.  I normally post in the fertility infertiltiy forum though.

Thanks for all your help. I am probably driving you crazy. Anyway, so my initial question, is it possible to have preg symptoms with out a pos hpt? I am assuming, if I am preggers, that I am really early and the hormone levels aren't there yet. According to my calander I can take a hpt today, that would be the earliest possible day to test. So I am going to wait until I miss my period. I should get it no later then sat. I am thinking I am not preggers and that is why I am having these symptoms...and that they are most likely period symptoms. I shouldn't be having these symptoms and be getting a neg hpt, if I were. I guess I am just to anxious...and its making me crazy...thanks so much...

It could be either one period symptoms and pregnancy symptoms are very agrevating as they are so close and the same in many ways.  I'd say just wait at least 2 days and then test again and if it's neg wait 2 days and then test again keep doing this until AF shows or you get a BFP.  I say every 2 days because your HCG level usually double every 2 days so if they were say only 10 yesterday then tomorrow they should be 20  and then 2 days later 40 and then 80 and so on so some pregnancy tests don't pick up until 50 so I'd just hang in there and don't stress.
