quitting smoking?
Can quitting at 30 weeks cause preterm labor? Can the ba y have withdrawls?
Wow!! Maybe everybody thinks different. That comment was really offensive. But I used to smoke, I would finish a pack every 3 days.. when I found out I was pregnant I stopped.. it was hard but knowing my baby might have health problems helped motivate me to quit.. some ppl say it's selfish for you to keep smoking and maybe it is but now that your so far along you should ask your doc and see what he suggests you.
Thank you all so much! I know smoking is bad so i finally am able to quit. Im 5 days without one. But now i keep getting like pains. Thats why im asking if it can hurt the baby or cause premature labor?
wow i dont even smoke but i was highly offended by Elixy128 comments that was highly uncalled for. my mom smoked while she was pregnant with all her kids and we are all fine. the only thing that happened was one of my sisters was a twin and theother baby didnt make it but my one sister did, but that could happen to anyone smoking or not. i say just talk to your dr. thats the one person that can give you a good full answer. in the mean time maybe try cutting back as much as you can. i was told you have to put another better habit in place of smoking to help quit its just what ive heard. as i said before i dont smoke but i wish you and your baby the best!
It seriously takes everything you have to quit. Im 19 weeks and have been completely smoke free for 12 weeks. Im beyond proud of myself because like i said it takes a lot out of someone to quit. But good job! Keep up the good work! Dont let negativity bring you down (:
Lol I'm 10 weeks and I still havnt managed to quit. I gave up cold turkey when I found out and caved about 2 weeks later. Now every three to 4 days I smoke about 3 smokes so I'm hoping to give up pretty soon but I have a feeling I won't be able to I have a pretty stressfull job and that's my vice. If you havnt quit by now then don't just cut down to as little as possible. @ elixy128 you are an idiot saying you're being mean to get your point across is stupid because do you really think most people pay attention to trolls like you . While you might know someone who gave up heroin when she got pregnant doesn't mean all of them do there are thousands upon thousands of kids born a year to crack meth heroin addicts. Didn't your mum ever teach you " if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all)
My sister had the same problem. Her OB actually told her that the baby would have withdrawals regardless if she stopped at 28 weeks or not. He was kinda a a** so Idk how much was true lol
My friend quit close to the end of her pregnancy and her baby had the shakes for the first day then she was fine. My mom smoke the whole time with me and I've never had any problems. Shame on the girl that was talking bad to you about it. Great job for quitting

Im so sorry that woman just attacked you like that .. that wasnt right in my opinon but coming from someone who does smoke ive talked to my doctor about my smoking and he told me yes of course its not good for your baby but you can put your baby in danger if you do quit.. but if you can quit thats great! I currently still do smoke maybe two a day because i dont want to stress my baby out with withdrawls.. really its all about how your body and the baby deal with it everyone is different

First off what a ***** for her to just start cursing and yelling. NOT EVER ONE CAN JUST Up AND Quit Some THINGS ITS Freaking HAD AND Takes Time AND Yes Quiting Cold Turkey On ANY THINGS CAN Cause Withdraw toWards THE baby but quitting slowly as in cutting down to 1 cig a day then gradually to none is better then just stopping or if your talking about weed same thing
I took hydrocodone my whole pregnancy up until 38 weeks and my baby was perfectly fine I was prescribed it by my Obgyn and I was taki n g 2 a day and went from 2 to 1 then to none and I was fine with no withdrawls

I quit. Thats why im asking. Wasnt asking to get yelled at. I am 4 days without a cigg but ive been told quitting this late can cause baby tp have withdrawls. And i dont want that. My first i smoked the whole time. And shes healthy as can be. I quit as i said. But im having pains now and odk what to do. If its just braxton hicks or not.
u should of quit at the beginning first off second ur killing ur child third ur really ****** selfish. i just read how mother is in rehab because shes a heroin addict she found out at two months and decided rehab amd is trying to get better and u cant quit smoking!! u mam are ****** selfish. and it will be ur fault if ur child has problems
