result of hpt..accuracy?

About four yrs ago I went to the doc to have blood pregnancy test, after taking numerous hpt(s) with neg result,  and result for blood test was negative. Two weeks after this result I was in obgyn looking at ultrasound to find I was over 3 months pregnant. How typical is this? I feel I am pregnant now and it seems it is going to be the same with hpt(s). They are coming out negative again, but I feel very similar to how I felt then. My last period was a month and a half ago.

Thank you for your posts. I just wanted to know that I wasn't the only one with such difficulties. I can't explain why the blood test was negative and only 2 wks later obgyn confirmed i was more than 3 months pregnant. My son will be 5 soon, happy and healthy, so I can only hope the same outcome this time. I just wish it was easier for me to find answers..and sooner this time. I will keep updates coming. Thanks again.

It's rare but it happens. If you think the same thing is happening req a u/s. If you nothing is seen at that point req a blood draw. Remember every pg is different and what you experienced last time you may not with this one. Good luck and let me know what happens.

If your last period was a month and a 1/2 ago....you should request a blood test..and maybe in another month, request an u/s since that is how you found out last time.

I personally have never heard of this.
