rising HCG levels after Miscarriage

March 10,08 I took 3 hpt to confirm that I was indeed pregnant. Needless to say on March 18,08 I started to bleed very lightly with no pains at all, I assumed that it was from Implacement. Well March 20,08 I started to have pains on my right side that moved to the right side of my back. I knew immediatly what was in store, from a previous belighted ovum almost a year ago,  I went to the ER and I had another preg. test which came back really weak, which I thought was normal because i was only around 5-6 preg. The doc ordered blood test and a ultra sound. Well the ultra sound showed nothing, the doc suspected a M/C, and my hcg levels were only at 127. They sent me home as a "threatened miscarriage. I contiuned to bleed but the pain went away about 2 days later. So I thought that i had a m/c. On April 8,08 I went back to the ER because the pains on my right side came back but more intense. So they orderd more blood test and another ultra sound to get some answer to my pain, well the ultra sound showed nothing again, but my hcg levels went up to 320. The ER didnt know what was going on, so they told me to schedule an appt. with my OB. I did that today which was April 10th. He did a ultra sound that still showed nothing. He did some blood work and told me to call back tomorrow around lunch time and get the results. With all this said, Im just wondering is there anyone else that has went through this & what was your outcome in the end ? Im really worried about all of this. ANY information would be helpful !! ok ladies, today i went back to the doc. after having my levels checked 3 days in a row. they levels keep rising. They dont see anything in my uterus. So therefore they are treating it as a blighted ovum vs. eptopic pregnancy. ( ive already  had a blighted ovum before) The doc says that he is pretty sure that it is an eptopic. so i will be going in for a  D & E and also a DIAGNOSTIC LAPAROSCOPY on this thursday. Everyone wish me luck. Thanks for all the information everyone had for me.

I am worried you are having an ectopic which you need to get out before it bursts...have they not thought of this?

I had a M/C and D&C last November, and my HCG levels dropped slowly.  I got a blood test each week because my doctor was concerned that they would raise.  Then one week they did, so I had an ultra sound, and there was still tissue left and I had to do another D&C.  Good Luck!

You are in my thoughts..... It is possible for you to be pregnant and bleed hon.. My friend did it and she did it through both of her pregnancies... I am just sorry..... I hope they can give you answers

Good luck...did your doctor mention anything about an ectopic?  Did they do a transvaginal ultrasound so they could actually probe and see things really well?  Perhaps you should get a second opinion if this isn't resolved soon...

well Now I should be about 7-9 weeks preg. My unterus is completely empty and Im still bleeding and i havent stopped yet. But i dont know, i get my results back from my blood test today around 1 pm. so i will let you all know. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. all the information is really helpfull.

It's quite possible that you are pregnant... Rising HCG level's only happen when your pregnant.... Or it's extopic.... And if your not as far along as you thought, then you wouldn't see anything on ultrasound anyway.... You cann't really see anything or the baby until at least 7-8 weeks.... So of course there would be nothing there... Hopefully, your dr has good news for you when you call this afternoon! Keep us posted

What I would be worried about at this point is it maybe being an ectopic pregnancy or blighted ovum. by 7-8 weeks you should be able to see something on an ultrasound and the way your levels are going up is cause for concern. Hopefully when you hear from your doctor he has positive news and maybe you aren't as far along as you originally thought.
