My sister was told this at her 18 week ultrasound, they basically told her he was going to have some kind of dwarfism. I dont want to scare you at all but she had a terrible experience the rest of the pregnancy having constant ultrasounds to check on him, she ended up being induced at 36 weeks b/c the Dr's claimed he needed to come out. She eneded up with a c-sectio b/c her body wasnt ready and did not dialte even to 1 cm.
Spencer is turning 2 in a month and is a healthy baby boy. 100% normal and does not have dwarfism of any kind. He is a bit short compared to other boys his age but is not a dwarf. They did tests after he was born and the geniticist say he is totally fine. My sister has often said she wishes she would have gone though the pregnancy without all the extra dr's appointments and ultrasounds, it was extremely stressful for both her and her bf. She said she would just tell them he's my baby and I love him regardless and went on with her pregnancy normally. After all he is fine and the stress they put her though was not warranted.
You as the mom need to decide if you want to continue with the extra's they will push on you. There is really no way to know until the baby is born.
I truly hope your case is like my sister and nephews, I know how scary it can be to hear these things and I hope your case is nothing like hers.
Keep your chin up!!
my friend was told her baby was a dwarf because her limbs measured very short in utero. The baby was born normal and healthy. Even now as a preschooler, she is healthy and proportional. She is on the petite side, 25% for height, but mom and dad are also on the petite side. I definitely would not worry about it too much yet, especially if all the other tests have been normal.
