sleeping question-rather strange and funny!

so we have a king sized bed, and i've always slept on my left side....well lately for some reason i've been completey 180'd on my sleeping schedule, and if i try to go to bed to see if i can sleep at a regular time, i lay there for 2+ hours, counting!

sleeping on the couch is usually uncomfortable period....so i aint tried it.....

but just now, i shut our door, sat on the arm of the couch, and then slid back, where from the waist up i was flat on my back on the cushion, but my legs were propped up/hanging off the arm....and i ALMOST went to SLEEP!!!

so i'm curious, i if i tried this "position" it should really do any harm right? i've tried to sleep with my legs propped up in bed, but i always roll over.....and then roll again.....and then redo the pillows under my legs......and then go pee....you see where i'm going with this!

so would it hurt anything if just one night or 2, to try and re-regulate my sleeping times, i slept like that? cos no matter what when i've slept on the couch, i'm awake by like 9 or so....sometimes, even dawn.....right now, i'm up till like, oh why lie? over night, and i take naps during the day, thinking it'll help, and then i end up sleeping from noon to 6pm, rather than noon to 2 or so....and today, i layed down at like 11 and STILL didnt get up untill 630pm, b/c my body isn't feeling like i'm getting enough sleep i guess!

ya i do need to adjust my due date lol....i'm actually just under 21weeks.....i had a u/s done at the women's center(expensive but somewhat worth it), and i am truly 21 weeks, not 15 as my original dr thought.....my mom is upset i'm switching dr's to where i am, but i think it's best.....the baby is measuring 18 weeks, but apparently that may have to do with *smoking* and my not having been eating as i should be(i still only eat 2 times a day, mostly light things), so the new dr thinks i need to step up my food consumption so that the baby can get his healthy servings as well, haha.....

Normal sleeping paterns seem to be a thing of the past for me. I only get the oppertunity to sleep for about 3-4 hours at a time anymore.. And I know this will only continue when my little boy gets here.. but it will be more like 1-3.. lol Anyways, no you're okay to sleep on your back, as long as it's comfortable. A couple nights especially shouldn't do any harm at all. Especially if you're only around 3 months [i'm assuming from your due date??] so don't worry about it. He's not big enough to be putting much strain on your back and leg nerves or anything yet.

No your good to do that. However... for me I have to stay up 24 hrs straight to get my sleep schedule normal. I went from going to bed at 3am to having to get up at 6:30am.. that sucked!
