Ok I'm 21 weeks and 4 days today, I just had my anatomy scan today and everything came back great! It's a girl! :) but the Thing is when the doc came to talk to me he really scared me. I smoked weed in my pregnancy, i don't anymore but I did like five days ago, and it wasn't daily. It was like once every two weeks.IF that and he asked me if I smoked and I told him no because my mom was there and I really dont want her to know I did tell him I did in the begining and I was around it but not often. He still kept pressuring about it and well scaring the **** out of me, if I stay completely away from it what are the chances of me testing positive? And since this wasn't my real doctor I didn't feel like tell him also. But I do plan on telling my real doc when I go 2/7 for my next appt that I've been around it and smoked alittle. What do you think will happen will they have child services watch me or what? I'm dreaming out and I do regret it but there isn't anything I can really do now, although I'm like addicted to cranberry juice..
Im not exactly sure where u live but here in florida (us) there are certain rules... I also smoked in the beginning of my pregnancy but i was honest with my dr and told her i did... I had 2 positive test and she told me if i had 3 then she would have to call social services..... But since i was honest she worked with me and didnt test me eveytime i went in she game me time to get my system cleaned out. It takes atleast 30 days to get thc.out of ur system but even if u test on the 30th day you could still come up positive. My advice if u dont want social services involved in ur life then stop now and be honest with ur dr if hes.understanding... Thats y i like the dr i go to she is willing to work with me as long as i ket her know whats going on
Sounds like they already tested you and you came up positive...he was giving you a chance to be honest and it won't look good that you lied BUT since this wasn't your regular doctor, here is what I would recommend...
Get on the phone today, or tomorrow, and ask to either speak with your doctor directly on the phone, or ask to be seen tomorrow or the next day. You need to get in with your doctor ASAP and be honest....since there's a good chance you've already tested positive, the best thing is to be honest NOW so they don't suspect you of trying to hide it.
At this point as long as you stay clean you shouldn't be in any trouble. They may refer you to a social worker, but it's standard procedure in many cases and won't reflect poorly on your record and you definitely wont get "in trouble". the key is just to be honest with your doc, and to keep clean from here on out...as long as you don't test positive again (although you may test positive at least once more if you've smoked in the last few weeks) you should be fine.
Deep breath...you will be ok, just remember to be honest, and try not to wait until the 7th...if they assume you're trying to hide it all that time, they may contact social services since you lied to the doctor and told him you hadn't...so that would be my one caution: don't wait.
Everything will be fine though...try not to worry!
Well I know they didn't test me because this fox who freaked me out didn't ask for urine or anything only thing they did was look at my baby. And my other doc has only tested my pee directly infront of me for sugar, I live in PA I'm not sure what the rules are here either I just don't know I know I am going to tell him but Im not smoking any more and I'm deffinately not gonna be around it if the doc that just freaked me out told me I can test positive for even just being around it too
This Dr should not have said anything in front of your mother, you did have the right to not disclose in front of her. It's really best that you stop, and make sure you are honest with your real Dr. I have read posts of women that have done or taken worse drugs during pregnancy and they were able to work through it and keep their babies because they worked on getting clean with their Dr.s
Oh ok i have family in pa:-) but thats def not necessarily the case each dr has he or her own opinion but according to my dr its not in your system until u hit it not just from being around it.... I havent tested positive since october and im around ppl who smoke on a daily basis granted i leave the room because at this point in 29 weeks and any smell of any type of smoke makes me sick but i dont believe.u will test positive just from being around it. Its still beys to stop now because i do kno in certain hospitals when baby is born they may do ramdom drug test and if baby test positive they have to call.social services and i havent dealt with them personally but from what i hear u.dont want them in ur business.
According to this chart Pa is not a required testing or reporting state. That doesn't mean that the Dr. doesn't have the option to test or report if they feel there is a need. I'm sure they could, and they would. It's always better to be honest, it's a drug, just like they need to know if you are taking tylenol or allergy meds. It's a bizarre question to hammer you on if they don't have a reason to think otherwise, unless they didn't just test sugar. Although at my last visit my OB confused me when she turned around and very abruptly asked me if I quit smoking cigarettes, I haven't smoked since I found out I was pregnant with my first child, 8 years ago!
I stopped smoking before I became pregnant because of anxiety, but I am around out pretty much everyday (dont worry my baby won't be lol) and I dont test positive. So being around won't make you test positive just using it will. You need to quit though...
here in alabama they WILL take your child after they test the baby at the hospital. my opinion (not trying to be mean) if you don't want your baby to be taken away and etc. don't smoke and don't be around it to make it temping..
cause you're worrying and that's something that i know i wouldn't want to worry about in pregnancy. but good luck to you.
Have you not had any blood tests? also, sometimes they may test the urine for sugar in front of you and package it off and send it to the lab later....they surely will test you now that they suspect, so just call your doc and be honest, and stay clean..you will be fine!
Yes I know and I agree with all of you, you guys are making me feel alittle better, and I did stop for awhile then I just did it again cause of my bf and our old friends came over and were like oh its just once and blah blah so I gave into perpressure.. but I am not doing it or going to be around it the rest of my pregnancy for sure because I do NOT want this angel taken away from me. I would hate my self for the rest of my life. This doctor was just so weird about it like he made me really nervous. Then went on and told me his brother thinks just the opposite and that "bong" should be his middle name. Ha
People have been known to anonymously call Dr.s as well if they suspect someone they know has been using drugs while they are pregnant. Not that that is the case, but there are many ways Dr.s can become suspicious or feel they have a reason to test you. Honesty is the best policy and the sooner the better.
Well they dump it out in the sink when they ask for it cause its just in a little Dixie cup. And I've had one blood test my mom took for me, cause she works in the lab at the hospital. But that was for stds and down syndrome and everything. Idk I just don't know how this doc would have known I dont think he did I just got nervous once he started hounding me about it I think it wad noticable. Like if they would have had me hooked up to a heart monitor I would have been screwed. Ha cause me heart started pounding
I would have a serious sit down with your partner and your 'friends' if they told a pregnant female to smoke and that it won't hurt. Once is all it takes, and once can cause you to lose your child for ever. You don't want to have your baby grow up around that stuff. It has an extremely obvious smell and if the wrong person were to notice it, CPS would be involved in a heartbeat.
In UT the baby is removed if it tests positive for drugs at birth. So do remember it takes 30 days for weed to leave your system and no telling when you will go in labor or be induced. It is best for your baby to quit. Good luck!
The way I understand is that it leaves your body in 30 days but it takes longer to leave the placenta. In KY, they test the baby at the hospital at birth. If it has drugs in its system they automatically call CPS.
i am 41 weeks pregnant and i smoked some exotic weed about 3 almost 4 weeks ago...will the thc show up in my babies system at birth? i dont need any smart *** comments eather just want an answer
