I'm almost 24 weeks and I still smoke.  I've cut down a lot but it is hard.  If you can quit then you should but if you don't don't beat yourself up for it.  My baby girl is really really healthy and Is three weeks bigger than normal and weighed 2 pounds at 20 weeks.

I quit cold turkey.  But thats because I felt sick (first symptoms if pregnancy)  and lost all desire to smoke,  so I guess im lucky.  You should try different techniques to make cigarettes disgusting to you.  I had a friend save all the butts,  let them marinate in some water and then took a wiff,  it completely turned her off of them.  The only way youre going to quit is if a) you actually want to and b) you kill the desire to smoke. If you can get yourself down to a short each day,  at that point you should be able to go without it and you'll feel much better all around.  Its for you and your baby.

Ya they say not to quit cold turkey cut the baby could have withdrawal from it my doctor asked me how much I smoked cut she was going to give me the patch an I said like 1 ta 2 cigarettes a day an she said on no honey yu will get waay more nicotine with the patch then smoking 1 ta 2 cigarette a day so she said she's not telling me it's good or to do it but it's could cause problems with the baby if I quit cold turkey so I just been having like 1 a day now like I haven't had 1 today

I smoked all the way through mine, my baby is fine. They rather you smoke than to be stressed, though its not good to smoke. Honestly... I was drinking before I knew I was pregnant and he was 5 months when I found out. I regret every single drop.

Well quitting cold turkey will do more harm than good. So you need to move to 2 cigs a day for a week then 1 cig a day for a week then 1 every other day for a week then stop. Your have made your baby addicted also so quitting cold turkey will stress baby out. But its good to quit now otherwise you could have a low birth weight baby, premie baby, a baby with breathing issues, or a baby addicted to nicotine which will be hell on you once baby comes out and is craving it and not getting it.

Hey, at least you're trying! Keep up the good work. Its hard. I know where I'm at they have a program where they help you quit and take samples to see if you've been smoking, and at the end of the program they give you free diapers for a year! Best of luck to you, you can do it for your bundle of joy!!!(:

It is easier to just quit cold turkey. I stopped a couple weeks after I found out I was preg. The first 2 weeks are horrible but once you get past that then it is so much easier and you will feel happy knowing that the cigs don't have a hold on you anymore. Just think of your darling baby the whole time. You will make it :)

I am 20 weeks 5 days. I've gone from over half a pack and I'm stuck at 2 or 3 sh!ts not easym I've been smoking for 10 years. Back when people smoked all the time. Im gonna get my drs opinion at my next appointment. But I can tell my baby isn't liking them. Made me super sick after smoking a half a cig this morning. I believe my baby will play a big part in quitting when I can feel them way more. Know your not the only mom that's having a hard time quitting.

Smoking while pregnant is never okay. Yes its better then smoking a pack a day or even half a pack but that doesnt stop it from depriving your baby of oxygen.
The risks to your baby are also reduced but not gone completely.
Dont stop at just 2 or 3 keep weaning yourself off, we all have our ways of dealing with stress. Try breathing exercises or going on a walk or just doing something you enjoy.
