how quickly are your hcg level suppose to drop after a miscarriage..i started bleeding around dec 16 my hcgs levels then were only 67.so the doctors told me i was going to miscarriage..in around tweo weeks they only went up to 104(thats the highest they as far as i know).around january 1 i started bleeding again and bleed for 3 weeks..i started having intercourse again as soon as i stop bleeding to try to get pregnant again..last week i had blood work again my levels were 46..could they still be there from my miscarriage or could i have gotten pregnant again..my doctor thinks it from my miscarriage and said just to wait to ee if they go down..if they are from my miscarriage should my doctor of told me that i need a d&c (he told me i didnt) ifthe levels are from my miscarriage can you get pregnant again if they are still there or you cant get pregnant again tell they go back to zero....please help ..my doctor is so useless and isnt helping me at all

Sorry to hear about your loss.
I M/C too in November and i have only just had a period (Last Friday) so it took my body 8 weeks to get back to  normal and i too never had a negative test until early Jan. It takes along time around 6 weeks for you body to get back to normal but everyone is different so im guessing it is from your M/C and not a new pregnancy as you also can not ovulate until your HCG levels are back down to nearly 0.

your doctor should be takig your levels every 2 weeks after MC to make sure they go back down.  my doctor followed with me until they were back down to 4.  So you might want to call and speak to the nurse and let the nurse know oyur concerns.  Even after a d and c, it took my hcg a month to go back below 5.

The other girls answered your TTC question.....Have you had Hcg levels drawn recently?  If your levels aren't going down, like your Dr. said, you may need a D&C......your body may not have expelled everything, in which case you are at risk for infection and other problems down the road.....Have you been in contact w/ your Dr. regarding everything?

I had the same question after my m/c and I was told that you will not Ovulate (therefore cannot conceive) if your levels are not back down to 0. So my guess is, your HCG numbers are still from your m/c. Mine took over a month to get back down to 0.

First of all, I am so sorry for your loss! To answer your question, your body won't be able to ovulate again (and therefore get pregnant again) until your HCG levels are back down to below 5. However, since your levels were only up to 104, they could have already come back down earlier this month, and if so, this could be a new pregnancy. Best of luck to you!
