My mom got them with all of us kids, and my middle sister got them. but my older sister didnt get a single one. so since I take after her more I thought id beokay. well nope. I am literally covered in them. its disgusting. and I used the palmers ccaco butter, and still using it. my stretch marks are getting lighter, idk if its the creame or the tanner. cause tanning helps them get lighter and whiter faster.. good luck I pray u dont get them, they are very depressing. DB gets so annoyed with me, cause I cry every night about it. but I cant help it. i used to be all about my looks, and DB lused to love my body, now I feel like a freak of nature. lol
I definitely agree that if your mum has them you are going to get them. There is no magic cream that can beat genetics.Although I do think that putting weight on too quickly can make them worse.
It is genetic. You can slather on as much as you want but if you have stretch marks in your family you are most likely going to get stretch marks. Women who swear by a certain lotion or cream probably just have the genetics that prevent them from getting stretch marks; it's a happy coincidence.
You can use lotions that boost elasticity (I would stick with more natural products than ones containing hard-to-pronounce, harmful chemicals because in the long run that might do more harm than good) to reduce the severity of the stretch marks.
If you're going to get them...you're going to get them. My mom never got them. I put lotion on my belly 3 x's a day. (Palmers cocoa butter) and I got them. They've been fading with time but they're still there. (hello monokini good by bikini...)
Does your mother have them? I believe if she has you probably will get them, if not you won't. Creams and lotions will moisterise your skin but won't prevent stretchmarks unfortunately. I have had 2 children and was lucky not to get them and I didn't use any creams or anything. My mother didn't get them after having 7 children so I knew I'd be safe!
I have a great cream that helped me.. you put it on twice daily its called Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula, its a massage lotion meant for stretch marks. it has vitamin E, Collagen & elastin it says right on the bottle helps prevent and reduce stretchmarks. And has a pic of a pregnant woman on it. It worked wonders on me with my first pregnancy and plan to use it this pregnancy again. it is for during pregnancy and after aswell as you lose the baby belly. Hope this helps, i highly recommend it :)
*Also it is clinically and dermatologically tested*
I asked the same question about a week ago and sadly got the answer i thought. Stretch marks are hereditary, meaning if your mothers/sisters get them then you most likely will. They suggest that you keep well mosturized (i do it 2 times a day) because it helps with your skins elaticity and drinking lots of water will help to. lotioning will also help with the itchiness that happens from the skin stretching. I had little silvery ones on my hips from losing some weight in highschool and they are getting longer up my hips, they were itching and ever since i started putting lotion on them once a day it seems to help. also don't use a lotion with extravitamin a in it, too much vitamin a is not good when pregnant. I use palmers massage lotion thats made with cocoa butter, i like the way it smells and its not too oily.
