i am 39 weeks n i have none...yet. Not certain whether it is genetic or not since my mom got tons of it...i hv been applying palmers cream day n nite and lately been applying jojoba oil. Not sure whether those really help too or maybe im just lucky for now..i dont hope for it to appear but im sure if it does, there is nothin much you can do about it! So as always i wont keep my hopes too high!
I totally relate.... I was doing so great w/having NO stretch marks all the way through week 28, using all kinds of "proven" creams and lotions. Then BAM!! I woke up and they were evvvvverywhere. They go all the way up past my belly button on both sides and are red. Ugh. Keep using your lotions though; it'll help keep the skin elastic, reduce itching, and help them fade faster after delivery (they'll turn much lighter). Unfortunately this is just one of the "souveniers" of pregnancy. At first I was devestated, but now I've just accepted them and figure it's all a part of motherhood. Try not to get to upset about it, after all... there's a growing baby in there! Nothing is more beautiful than that. :)
Yep... Got a bump.. You can have mine..(I am not a big fan.)
Especially since it looks like Freddy Kreuger got at my lower stomach.. Uggh.
Yay you have a BUMP! i'm soo jealous ;) I can't wait to be pregnant again!
My Mother got AWFUL stretch marks.. EEEgadds.. Its disgusting....
And my "bump" sprouted pretty much overnight as well...
Thanks ladies
I'm sorry you are getting stretchmarks, i'd be ultra-freaking out too! Apparently its everything to do with genes like feather2e said and not on how much lotion you use, (eventhough lotions make it feel better from itching). It'll get better. Anyway Palmer's makes good stretchmarks lotions...
I think that you go through growth spurts and your skin doesn't stretch fast enough.
I was told it is part genes. If your mum got alot of stretchmarks you might also.
Don't itch! Keep up with your lotion...Darn those stretch marks!
