sugar test

I have a doctors appointment today, and I'm pretty sure they said I will be doing the Sugar test.  She didnt explain anything to me about it.  So am I not supposed to eat any sugar before my appointment today?

And also I just got a really big messy bloody nose.. Is that normal?

I went for my 1 hour glucose test about a month ago and was told to eat and drink normally up until drinking the stuff and then nothing for that hour. If for some reason you go back for the 3 hour, you will have to fast beforehand.

hm i wonder if it depends on the type of test/doctor's office...they told me not to have any sugar at all. the night/morning before.

yeah, you should be fine unless they told you not to.  I remember that flat soda thing, it made me SO sick!

For the first glucose test, you can eat what you normally eat.  If your results are not normal and you have to take the 3 hour test, that's when you have to fast before the test.  For this test, all you'll do is drink what this thing that taste like flat soda.  I didn't think it was too bad, but some women get really sick from it.  Good luck!

I believe they gave me something to drink for the sugar test.  You shouldn't need to do anything for it unless they told you to.

As for the bloody nose, yes that's very normal!  I had one so bad with my first pregnancy I passed out!  I don't get more than one a year, but had enough to last me a lifetime with my first pregnancy.
