Like leighanne said, most likely it's an infection, which your OB should want to treat. I had an infected wisdom tooth when I was pregnant with first DS and could not get it pulled until afterward, (couldn't even get a dentist to look at me without a stack of paper signed by OB). I finally got a prescription for antibiotics (from OB and NOT dentist) and was fine until after I delivered.

ask your doctor for a antibiotic that your not allergic too.  95% of the time its not your wisdom tooth that hurts, its the infection that your wisdom teeth being swollen causes.  usually if you get an antibiotic, the pain goes away within 2 days and you could hold off until the baby is born.

i know because all 4 of my wisdom teeth needed to come out.  i was in agony and i mean agony.  the doctor told me i couldnt get them out for at least 2 months cause th oral surgeon is booked.  I freaked.  he then told me about the infection piece i mentioned above.  i took the antibiotics and i was fine.  i did not feel pain again until all 4 were yanked out 2 months from then.  that was pretty painful.

hahaha im not trying to be difficult i swear, but im also allergic to zpac and all "myacins". Doctors love me when i have an infection LOL. I'm allergic to reglan, ibuprofren and protonix too...also completely unrelated but also Mint lol. i have a really fun time with writing out my allergy list at the doctors ...they never give me enough little allergy lines. plus i have asthma...what a freak right? lol i just want my freaking teeth pulled! i was told when they were still under the surface that as soon as they pop through the surface i needed to get them removed...well one popped the surface last year when i didnt have any insurance and now all but one have broke the surface and im freakin pregnant! lol just my luck.

I know exactly what you're going through...I've been going through something similar for the last week and a half between migraine and back pain.

They gave me amoxicillin I think, and once it started working the pressure and pain eased off...

You might want to call another dentist. Some dentists will do it through the early 3rd trimester...and you're JUST in the 3rd trimester so I don't see why it's such a big deal. I was put completely under at 34wks for my kidney stones so I know it's possible to do safely....idk but I'd get a second opinion.

At this point in your pregnancy, yes you can get your wisdom teeth out. You can take post-removal pain meds as well, so that's not a big concern. I know all of this because I found out I was pregnant with my daughter because I was having excruciating wisdom tooth pain, and when the dentist asked if I was pregnant I had to respond "I don't know, we've been trying.." and he told me to go home and take a test. Obviously it was positive, and when I went back he gave me antibiotics and told me to come back in the 2nd trimester to get them removed. The antibiotics eliminated the pain so I never ended up having the procedure, but it can be done during the 2nd and early 3rd trimesters :).
