there was heartbeat and now there is not???

Has anyone heard of having u/s's at 5 and 6 weeks and having everything be fine and then the 7th week no heartbeat?  At the 7th week the baby had grown where it was supposed to be but nurse says it must have died right before the u/s.  I have had a small amount of brown spotting for a week and a half but no cramping or major bleeding.  My hcg went up yesterday by 1100.  It didn't even close to double , but it never has in this pregnancy and things were going along fine.

STOP!!!!

you need to wait and see..like the other girls said the baby could be at a weird angle or the lady just plain didnt see the heartbeat, definately get your blood drawn again and watch your levels if they start going down then thats a bad sign, but yours are still going up, some peoples hcg levels dont double they just slowly rise..please do NOT go through with the d&c without having another ultrasound or waiting to see if your hcg drops.

No way I would cancel the DNC and get another ultrasound! It is very very possible that the tech missed the heartbeat. I dont see the heartbeat stopping right before the ultrasound I would go to the ER and tell them your having bad cramps or something and demand an U/S so that you atleast know before you do anything drastic.....
Good Luck!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I've also had a missed miscarriage where the baby measured about where it should be, but no heartbeat at 8 weeks. It must have stopped developing within a couple of days of my ultrasound. I had no signs that I was miscarrying either (not even spotting). I ended up having my D&C the following week.

Take care of yourself, and feel free to send me a private message if you have any questions or need someone to talk to.

ya i'd make sure for positive there's no heartbeat......don't go through with your d/c, honestly i would wait 2 more weeks, and see if they find one.....it's *very slightly* possible in the beginning it wasnt even a heartbeat they found, or something, and are just *assuming* the baby(ies) has passed away.....i'd really wait a couple more weeks, just to make sure, at the most *not to be rude or too direct*, you could pass it on your own with out the d and c.....

Not good. I am having D&C Tuesday.  Heartbeat had stopped the day of my last ultrasound. :-(  We will try again in a few months.  I wish you all the best!

I would say wait another week and have the u/s again to confirm.... Sometimes the baby can be in  position that may "hide" the heartbeat so to speak...... So it's possible.. And if your HCG level is still rising that's a good sign too.

I made it to 9 weeks the last time around and had an U/S stating that my twins died at 7 1/2 but appeared to have been fine up until that point.......However, my Hcg dropped from 13,000 to 11,000 in 48 hours.....whereas yours is still going up....Wait and see what happens......Maybe get your Hcg drawn in a couple of days and see what's going on........I hope everything turns out for you!

I saw a heartbeat at 6w3d and then it died at 6w5d but we didn't know for weeks. If the baby is measuring where it is supposed to it might be possible that the tech just missed the heartbeat. I would say wait a week and get another ultrasound before you make any decisions.
