think im in labour

im 37 wks, since yesterday iv been having contractions. my back is sore. some contractions are so tight that i can feel the blood rushing to my face with pain.and some are light.i started timing 3 hours ago,it was 10 mins apart, now there mostly 5 mins apart with some in between or skipping some. i dnt want to go in if its not real labour. it feels like real labour contractions. but i dont feel as if im ready,i mean i have not been feeling the real heavy pressure down there like what u feel at the end of pregnancy. has anyone had simular?  what was the out come?  i never go earlier than 40 weeks so i wasnt expecting this. it cant be bh. has anyone had this and it just stoped?  thanks in advance for replies x

If they are coming in a regular pattern and are getting progressively stronger, I would definitely make a trip to L&D if the rest and hydration doesn't change them.

It definately sounds like labor. If after an hour of good rest and hydration they don't go away, or if they get any less than 5 min apart consistently then you better go in!

yeah i agree. they say to make sure your hydrated, empty your bladder (hard to do both lol but when my bladder is full i have bh), and if your resting to walk around some and if your walking around to rest...if none of this works then call. i tried these things the other day (except drinking a lot cause i knew that would make them worse) and they didn't work..so that's when you know to go in!!

Laying on your left side is supposed to help blood flow, or so I've heard.

il try that first then. what does lying on the left side do? if its not real labour does it stop the contractions

If you lay on your left side and drink water and they don't go away go to the dr! I was told after 36 weeks to go in for contractions 3-4 min apart, consistently, but better safe than sorry...you don't want to be delivering baby on the side of the road.
