this may be a silly question but I need some answers

Ok I'm 16 weeks pregnant. I'm going on a fishin trip tomorow at crab orchard lake. We actually get out of the boat and fish in like chest deep water.  I was just curious if it was ok to swim in the water. I know that I can't eat the fish becauae of the high mercury levels but I didn't know if it was unsafe for me to actually swim in it. Help please

So if i wOuld get in like knee high water it would be ok.  I defiantly don't want to get out there and bake so maybe knee high water would be ok. It seems like everything you do there is alwaya a risk. I would never want to do anything to hurt my boy/girl but i don't want to be completely out of the loop.

There can be bacteria and parasites on the water. Its unlikely that you would get an infection, but it is possible. Its just like how when you take a bath water can get "inside"of you and when you stand up it comes out, its the same with any other water. And you don't want any unclean water getting in there.

You are actually not supposed to swim in lake water while pregnant. It can cause infection. Only swimming pools and treated water.
