told to expect miscarrage- need advise please!

I found out  was pregnant two weeks ago. my dates say I'm 8weeks. I went for my first vaginal ultrasound three days ago, doc said the size states I'm only 5weeks gone with a very low heart rate. doc wants me back for another next week to see if the heart is still beating. she said Its not looking good and wants me to prepare for the worst. told me what to expect if I start to miscarry.
anyone been in a similar position???
I don't no whether to expect a miscarrage and prepare myself or is there any hope that my baby may survive?!!

I have a similar situation. I'm eight weeks measuring at six but we had no heartbeat at all. The doctor says there were different possibilities but they did measure my hormone levels and I have another appointment next week. I'm scarred out of my mind and I know how ugly it feels so I wish all the best for you and your little one. Have faith and positive thoughts.

I suggest u should do ur ultrasound from somewhere else who can gv u proper info on heart rate, ur exact weeks and this dr seems to just scare u. Plz keep urself positive as there is a heartbeat in ur baby :) god gives and he only protects. So keep rest in god's hand and u be calm relax. Tk rest as much as u can. Eat healthy. U r in my prayer. :) Plz do keep us updated after ur next ultrasound (from another dr). Tk cr dear

Because u are early on the heart rate would b low wouldnt it, u can barely notice it to start with so I wouldnt worry too much. Cant believe ur midwife told u that, like she wants to stress you out which can cause a misscarriage unnessary stress on u

I had to have an emergency abdominal surgery yesterday morning and I am 9 weeks along. There was a chance that my baby wouldnt make it due to the anesthesia and disruption of my abdomen. What I did in the days prior to the surgery is I put all of my thoughts and focus on my baby itself, thinking of the love I have for it and how happy I will be to have baby in my arms one day and be a mother. Almost like I only bonded with the baby in a very positive way instead of worrying about possibly losing it. It worked for me and kept my mind at ease. Both baby and I are now on the road to recovery. Maybe doing that will help you too. Stay strong :)

I would try calling and asking if they can monitor your hCG levels until the next appt. Thats what my dr did before he did both of my d&c's. Im asking to have the same thing done next week at my appt just because Im nervous. Best of luck to you.

I have never been in this situation, but I truly believe there is always hope.  A heartbeat is a good sign, and yes, you could very well have ovulated later than you think.  Miracles happen everyday so as long as there is a heartbeat, you still have a chance of a healthy pregnancy IMO.  Good luck!

My mothers coworker was told she was a misscarriage waiting to happen turns out she just had a bruise on her placenta and had to take it easy and rest. It was causing her bleeding and cramps. So if your really worried get a 2nd opinion shes only 12 weeks

thank you for the replies.
my doc never said to keep an eye on anything. she didn't even advise me to rest she just said to expect the worst of no heartbeat next visit as is so low now.
I've been working I just so office admin, nothing near stressful should I go sick and rest?

Ive had 2 mc's. But both were D&C's. FIrst one was a molar pregnancy and second was a blighted ovum. I would say to just rest and right now you have absolutely no control over what could possibly happen. I know from experience you cant help but worry but theres nothing you can do to stop it from happening. Its nothing you did wrong these things just happen. I wish you the best and please just try and stay positive. Did she say anything about monitoring you hCG levels? usually  when your going to miscarry they drop. or they only rise a little, they wont double every 24 to 48 hours the way they normally would.

Also doctors a lot of the time tell yu worst case scenario so if something drastic did happen it would have been anticipated...doesn't always mean it will happen

There is always hope! Just pray for the best! My babies heart rate is now down to 125 as of today. I am 31+6. When they did my first u/s the heart rate was way low. And they told me the same thing. They are all still in shock that he is so strong! Just keep faith that the good lord will do his will!

Its possible that yu are earlier than what yu thought, maybe uu ovulated late

A heartbeat is a good sign. Just take it one day at a time and try not to stress...a miscarriage is inevitable and there's nothing yu can do to prevent one if thats whats meant to be... just think happy thoughts and hope for the best

I was told i would lose my baby cause i was bleeding and crampy... but almost 17 weeks later baby is still wiggly and healthy but i still get a period every month and have to be checked. Best thing you can do is rest and try not to stress.
