too much pain?

i'm 30 weeks, and i've been having a lot of back pain for the past 5 weeks or so. it's always in the same area, middle of the right side about two inches below my bra and 4 inches up from the bottom of my ribs. i asked my doctor about it about 2 check ups ago and they said it might be a knot and that it def wasn't my kidneys, but at that point i was only feeling pain some evenings and after sleeping a night it would be gone in the morning. now it hurts 24/7, from the moment i wake up til i can get myself to sleep all night and its spread around to the front of my ribcage as well. kind of feels like theres a knife stuck right through my ribs. i have a dr.'s appt in two days but im trying to figure out if i should be worried or not. is pain 24/7 normal in some pregnancies? this is my first, i'm 5'2" and baby is big for his age already.

Im 30 weeks as well and my back is always killing me. Back pain is extrememly normal during pregnancy but it shouldnt feel like a knife in your back. If you think it is abnormal than contact your doctor and have them really look into it to either reassure you or diagnose a problem.
