You also need to see a "free floating" membrane between fetuses and not one that appears to stuck around one fetus while the other fetus may appear to have excessive fluid in its sac.

Are you sure there is only 1 placenta?  If there are 2 placentas, that makes it a dichorionic / diamniotic pregnancy and takes TTTS off the differential diagnoses. If there is 1 placenta, you need to ask your doc about TTTS surveillance which includes fluid check for each sac, bladder evaluation for each fetus, and Doppler evaluation of the umbilical arteries of each fetus, and hydrops check for each fetus.

I'm carrying identical twins and I had to have weekly scans for ages, as I had one a lot smaller, luckily twin A has caught up now but still having scans to keep an eye on them. Eat plenty and rest lots.

We monitor mono/di twins EVERY 2 weeks till delivery for fluid/hydrops check with Doppler evaluation. TTTS is more about fluid imbalance. Moreso than size difference. Small discordance in size is normal. Are both bladders visualized?  Is a free floating intertwin membrane seen? What is the growth discordance in percentage?  20% or greater?  If TTTS is developing, you need an MFM referral. If it is not TTTS, greater than 20% growth discordance, may be attributed to selective IUGR. TTTS needs to be ruled out and you should have more surveillance to watch the progression of these babies.

Its mo/mo twins that are the most risky. She stated she was having mo/di so im guessing thats why they arent too worried. Like i said mine are measuring 4-5days apart and they are fine, ask your doctor about it if you feel they arent paying attention to it enough.

Ive heard of this but after week16 they dont worry about it too much. Im 35weeks with mono/di twins and mine have measured about 4-5days apart but my doc hasnt ever been worried as long as its not by more than a week they wont worry too much.

Be careful though. Just becuse 1 baby is behind in growth that does not automatically imply TTTS. TTTS can only in monochorionic/diamniotic pregnancies. There are certain criteria and stages of TTTS.

How far behind in growth? What is your gestational age?  TTTS is very, very serious and requires invasive treatment and a very high level of fetal surveillance. It is basically unequal sharing of the placenta where the "donor" baby gets growth restricted and loss of amniotic fluid and the "recipient" baby gets fluid overload. Any other questions just post.  The invasive procedure is called laser photocoagulation.
