ultrasound 15w6d

I  am currently 15w6d pregnant and I went to hospital due to having Sharp pains on my left side in the pelvic area they used doppler and hb was 140 -150 so they did ultrasound and baby looks fine has all body parts the right amount of amniotic fluid and placenta looks good but there was some small dark areas that could be bleeding or small hemmorriges she said it should go away on its own but follow up wit ob and get frequent ultrasounds to make sure it goes away. I still have some pain, should I be worried is this something that results in miscarriages? What is it. Anyone experience this I'm worried I just had a mc Feb on 2011

The techs themselves can not diagnose anything or tell you what they found. It has to be sent to a doctor who will then review it and talk to you about it all. Your doctor can call them and request they send everything to her. If baby cooperates, you will likely find out the gender at your anatomy scan.

Low lying placentas are relatively common. I had one with my daughter - it was found at my 20 week ultrasound and by the time I went in for my next at 24 weeks it had moved up. It can cause pain and bleeding, and some doctors put their patients on pelvic/bed rest if they had one. With mine I never had any restrictions, nor did I have any problems from it. The placenta being posterior means it is behind the baby - it is the most common location for the placenta. There are various different grades that the placenta can be, ranging from grade 0-3. Grade 1 occurs in the second and early third trimester and is what yours should currently be at.

Overall it sounds like things are fine. Unless your doctor gave you restrictions you don't have to do anything special. It is important that you keep up with your fluid intakes. Water is important while pregnant as it keeps your amniotic fluid levels up - you of course also want to limit the amount of caffeine you intake (which is contained in both soda, teas and coffee)

Hey guys my doctor wanted to see me today and she just checked hb and read the report and said she's not worried I have 1-2% chance of mc. I got the report....I have a posterior low lying grade 1 placenta no previa present and hypoechoic foci measuring up to 3cm noted along the inferior margin of the placenta n may reflect areas of hemorrhage

What does that mean or sound like

Not everyone experiences external bleeding with a SCH. But, keep in mind the m/c rate because of a SCH is very low.

Ok I didn't kno if laying a certain way would make it worse. You think since I'm not having any vag bleeding I'm in the clear or does not everyone experience that with sch

An ultrasound is how you find out its exact location. If you're not a big water drinker (I'm not either) drink gatorade.

I was on strict bed rest at the start. Now I'm on pelvic rest (no intercourse), no heavy lifting and my fiance is treating me as if I'm still on bed rest. Just, keep my fluids up, continue to take my vitamins. Other then that, there's really not much you can do. And like Clysta said, they are pretty common and do usually resolve on their own.

I have a SCH I was diagnosed with it at around 7 weeks and I'm currently 11 weeks. Mine was a larger large one that has caused bleeding. I've been for 3 ultrasounds since being diagnosed and baby has been fine everytime. If you have any questions, feel free to inbox me.

Yea I have a doct apt Wed then Feb 8 I'm suppose to find out what  the sex is but I'm not bleeding I just woke up with Sharp pain on one side and its jus mild cramping right now. They want me to get US done in a week to see if it has went away. They said the biggest one was 3cm. It just scares me bc I thought chances of mc go down but I guess you still have to worry. I just hope it don't get no bigger how long do you think this been tjere

I don't believe it's know why it happens. Around 20-30% of pregnancies have it occur, if this is the cause at all. I would say you shouldn't stress yourself out endlessly about it, nothing you do will make it go away - the only time it's a problem is if it is large, or if the placement is bad. I would just bring it up to your doctor and see what they say do. You shouldn't need dozens of ultrasounds, just a few to see what it does over time. Another ultrasound in a few weeks will show if it is disappearing at all.

It sounds like a SCH, which is a Subchorionic Hematoma. It's basically blood that gathers between the uterus and placenta. In almost every case these will clear up and go away on their own, but sometimes can cause complications. With these you might or might not have symptoms. Most common ones are cramping and bleeding, and the bleeding can be severe in some cases. Definitely follow up with your doctor and see what they say - I would also abstain from sex for how and take it easy, just to be on the safe side.
