using internet is harmful for baby? today morning i was talking to my sisinlaw on phone. she is pregnant too. n she is on 7 month. she was telling that doctor told her not to use internet since she got pregnant. i m so worried when she told me this. i use internet 3-4 hrs daily. my doctor didnt tell me not to use internet.i m on 21 weeks pregnant now.  u ladies have been told not to use internet or have some limit to use . i ve wireless connection in my house.

I am 38 weeks and I am in school taking online classes always have with my first and this one. I am unsure about it but I'm at my final stages. Lord protect my baby boy as u have protected  my first born.

Question: I am 6 months pregnant and I am just seeing this site. Most of you all have had your babies. After Internet and cell phone use did you discover that your babies were just fine? Were there challenges with their behavior  My husband works nights and I have occasionally fallen asleep with my laptop on the bed (mostly in the last two weeks or so) so I am slightly concerned.

Sorry I found this hysterical.  If using internet (either PC or laptop) was bad for pregnant women....then we'd ALL be pretty well screwed lol.  The heat from a laptop can mess up a mans sperm but as far as a women goes after she's already become pregnant...well, I'm hoping your SIL misunderstood the doctor...if not, perhaps she should start looking for a different one.

Your totally right! It was for men's spermies... I even went to doublecheck.

Honestly there is no data to support this theory and women have been using Internet, especially while pregnant, without any problems. Any probs someone does experience is due to other factors (drinking, drugs, genetic, etc.). I am in 100% agreement with LauraB. If it were harmful there'd be a lot more information out there on it!

when men use laptop in there lap that is harmful for them. not because of radiation. it generats heat and  heat can cause sperm less in number, that i read somwhere. but i never read or heard that using internet is harmful for unborn baby before. i m really worried cos i ve been using internet continuously. even i watch movies online.

I have absolutely no data to back this up.. I am just going with my gut 100%..
BUT, it seems to me that most of us use the internet daily just to perform our JOBS.. I think if internet posed any real danger, we would hear A LOT more about it and honestly I have NEVER heard this one..

I think internet use is perfectly safe.. But that is just MY opinion..  =)

I think the main issue is with laptops. Computers do emit some radiation but not enough to harm your unborn baby. The problem with laptops is when they sit on your lap.

Do some more reasearch! I'm interested to hear what any other Internet-savvy ladies out there know more about this as well!!!
