uterus measuring big

What does it mean when the doctor says my uterus is measuring big/high for the date?

Okay thank you! I go in 3 Weeks for a ultrasound because my first son was 5lbs 9ozs. So im not sure ill have a big baby but who knows.

They measure your fundal height. so from your pubic bone to the top of your uterus. Could mean your baby is a bit bigger or it could mean nothing much. Measuring fundal height isn't very accurate. Mine measured small for a while with baby #1 and he ended up being over 9 lbs!
