uti or yeast infection

Are uti and yeast infections common in pregnant women? If so this *****...I think I have a yeast infection...I have never had 1 before...and my friend said since I and pregnant I can't use the otc stuff. I have to wait for my doc. Grr..it hurts. Also I don't understand how I got it cause I drink water cranberry juice orange juice every day and  eat prunes almost every day.

I have both ... and it ***** ... but I got prescribed antibiotics and monistat

I wrote suck up there..I wonder why they blocked it with those stars. Anywho thanks ladies. I go to my dr. Tomorrow. Hopefully I can use otc fast acting stuff cause I am not a fan of scratching my womanly stuff..especially if I'm not home.

Yes u are more prone to infections during pregnancy & if its a yeast infection you will have discharge, itching & burning. Try not to scratch i know its hard but it will get worse. &My doctor told me with my now 3 year old to use over the counter yeast infection meds they are safe & i did atleast twice in my pregnancy & I am 11 weeks pregnant now, took antibiotics for a Uti and the antibiotics caused me to have a yeast infection & again my doctor advised me to use over the counter meds and Vagisil for itching.

Usally they say eat yogurt for a yeast infection.  And cranberry juice for a uti. I'm pretty sure that you canuse monestat(spell check lol) but you could possibly not have one so going to the doctor would be better. I thought I had a yeast infection amd turns out I didnt.

If it hurts its probably a uti definitely go to the Dr. cause you shouldn't use anything otc when pregnant

Your friend is right.  & yes its common. Yeast infections more than uti. But I've had both in my pregnancies.
