vaccinations or no vaccinations?

Before you read this please know that I'm not looking for bashing comments, or rude and ignorant people telling me what to do. I am looking for opinions, stories or even people who are in the same boat as me right now. This is a really serious topic for me because it involves my daughters life. So please no bashing comments!
So for about my whole pregnancy I have done more research then I have ever done in my life! And I am scared for my daughter because I don't know what to do and I feel like either way I will blame myself if something goes wrong! I just read an article for exemptions of vaccines in NYS. There's a lot of things I can do so she doesn't have to get them but if I decide not to get her vaccinated, NYS is really strict on vaccinations and what goes into our bodies, and they might even call CPS on me. This came off of a NY site based on the department of health. So do I risk damage being done to my daughter, or CPS possibly taking her away from me because I don't believe in vaccinations? I don't know what to do, I would feel absolutely horrible if something medically went wrong with her, and I would feel just as bad if she was taken away from me. Its kinda sad and sickening that I am forced to choose because of two serious reasons, and I find it really unfair :/ I also think about school, and obviously want her to have a good education, but public and private schools don't accept none vaccinated children, but I don't want that to be the reason I get my daughter vaccinated because It kinda makes me sound selfish! My wish would be to not get her vaccinated! And If I can do it without any problems or something involving her being taken away from me then thats what I'm gonna do but what happens if I don't have a choice? Do I just sit back and let doctors stab her every time they want to? I am so upset about it all, I just want my baby to have a happy and healthy life, and I don't want her ending up having all the problems me and her father have.

I would get her vaccinations done because they are required in the u.s.a. to have them in order to attend school and I do understand why they require it because it is a lot of kids and they all get sick so its like a precaution thing. But it is up to you but if is true about cps I would get it done, its not worth your child being taken away.

I've been researching too, I still want her to be vaccinated, but going to do the staggered plan where they don't get all the vaccines at once

I did not do much research until after my baby was born so she did get the eye goo but I wiped most off anyway. She got vit K and also hep vaccine-that made me wonder. She is 5 months old and has only gotten half of the recommended shots. My doc tried to convince me otherwise but I kept saying no. She has the MMR and polio thats it. No more hep which is transmitted through body fluids...um hello shes a baby not gonna donate blood or anything! My 1st is 9 I was a lot younger she got all the shots they told me and was sick all the time. Became immune to antibiotics cuz she was on them so much. There is a chart showing 30 years ago babies got 10 shots from birth-12 I think now they get 45. Im very healthy no allergies no autism or other serious illness in my family. We are sticking with the original 10-12 shots everything else is pharma companies trying to get $$$. Just my opinion. You are mom you do what you feel right. Good luck!

Yeah you will get that a lot being a young mother, people don't think that we know anything. But it's our children, we know more about them then any one else ever would. And yeah I know about the whole rights thing, my sister got the religious exemption form and there's not one thing they can do to say her children aren't allowed in school. It's a religious belief. There's nothing they can do about it.

My oldest will be 2 in aug, second due i  sept. So i still have a ways to go but i will be providing them with the religious exemption, and ill just laugh if they refuse it (they'v been known to do) because ill be happy to sue their *** because i know mine and my kids rights!!!! Alot of people Doctors mostly try to assume because of my age im unaware of my rights and uneducated with the law so they try to threaten and scare me....they sure as hell shut up tho once i speak a lil' of my mind!!

EXACTLY! the same government who takes from us daily ! The same government who takes away insurance for those who need it. Yeah that government who causes harm to us! But people don't see that type of stuff! See the crazy stuff you learn once you research though. And hen I read some of these articles of mothers who had problems with there children and blame themselves for ever because of it, I would never want to be in that situation! Its sad! They had this court case on a few people who got vaccinated with the same vaccination and they all developed long term mental problems, the one kid was put in a wheel chair because he had a high fever and the doctors couldn't get it to go away, so it put him into a coma and basically woke up brain dead, so hes stuck in a wheel chair for the rest of his life. Stuff like that tells ya are vaccinations really that goof for your kids? You can treat diseases and infections, you cant treat mental disorders though!

It realy is just sad how people will treat you for not vaccinating....but just as there are "doctors" that say to vaccinate, there are doctors that agree with not vaccinating and dont vaccinate their children....yup studied the same thing in medical school as everyone else and still dont agree with the line of people that follow what the government says to do and is whats best (same GOVERNMENT that tries to poisen our crops of supposably healthy food)

I noticed the same thing, its so weird! I see so many kids who get vaccinated sick all the time, its horrible, they always have colds, or runny noses, fevers, etc and its scary for little kids to be sick like that all the time. I know so many people who also only vaccinate there kids because they want them in a public school, personally I see that as selfish in a way only because they aren't looking at the health risks, but I dont bash people if they vaccinate, I just dont agree with it. My sister has been bashed so much for not vaccinating my niece, people calling her a bad mom, doctors calling her retarded because she was getting false information (which came from the CDC website). Its sickening how people can treat people based on a belief.

Glad you actualy did your research!!! So many people dont even question it since the doctors say thats what to do, obviously because thats were they make money.....i only know a handful of people that dont vax their kids, and honestly their kids are the healthiest i know....obviously everyone has their own opinions on this subject and realy its for each parent to decide on their own what they think is best for their family....ppl that bash someone elses beleifs or ways is just ignorant and close minded.....

For the first year I am going to vaccinate, but after that I am going to stop because every vaccination that I've gotten I've ended up getting super sick. The last time I got a flu shot was probably 8 years ago and I ended up getting a severe strain of the Whooping Cough and I almost died from it. 3 years after that they came out with the Swine Flu vaccination and I ended up with Swine flu after I got that shot, so needless to say I am vaccine free, but for a newborn baby their immune systems are so low that I feel that she does need her shots for the first year... But again that is just personal opinion. I too have been doing research on whether or not it will affect her or what not but I also live in Canada, so it is a tad different for me.

my decision is based on so much more then just my niece, also based on myself and my experience with vaccinations and my nephews and brothers, a few friends and my research. I have done so much research the last 7 months, and couldn't believe all the information I got. And I will regret it if I get her vaccinated! I developed so many problems after I got certain vaccinations, and now suffer from serious disorders. She doesn't have to go through that if I prevent it. Thats what I'm trying to do. And I plan on breast feeding and doing so much natural stuff that you wouldnt believe, its all about her being healthy, I'm even buying organic baby soap, and laundry detergent, that's how serious I am about her health. Nothing wrong with it. I care to much about her to let anything happen to her, and if she does develop problems (praying she doesn't) but if she does I will work through them without medications and vaccinations. unless its an infection or something, but if its for depression, or anything like that, I will not let her go on medication, I went through it and it ruined my life. So I just hope I dont ever have those problems with her, she deserves a good healthy life, and I want to provide it for her and make all the right decisions for her until shes old enough to do it for herself. And if anyone thinks that makes me a bad mother, then oh well, because all I'm doing is looking out for her. Your health is the most important thing in life, and lets just say if my health was better growing up I would have been a much happier person.

Its harsh to say but just because ur niece is fine doesnt mean everyone else will. Ur decision is not wrong. Ur her mother and u do every decision that u think is best for her. Its what every mom should do. But please! Dont base ur decision on some people who didnt get it abd are fine. Its like those mothers who think snoking during pregnancy is fine cuz the neighboor did it and their kids fine. U get sick with and without vaccine. Its life. My mom got all her kids vaccinated and its what saved me as a child because drs found out im allergic to multiple medications so if i get sick i need to suck it up. Getting vaccinated was a great way to prevent me from getting sick from certain things. But its all different for everyone. As long as u do what u think is right and dont regret it later then ur doing a darn good job as a mom

Its far from being neglect, because I'm doing whats right for her, and going by what I believe. my niece is 2 years old and has never been sick once, never had rashes, and never had fevers or ear aches, and is smarter then ever! and she wasnt vaccinated, so people can try and tell me oh its so bad not to vaccinate, but is it really? she can get sick getting vaccinations, it weakens kids immune systems, causes damage for some people later in life, so why would I risk that? Why would I want to put poison into her body, our bodies aren't made for that! You can't go by everything doctors tell you! They aren't always right! I would know I suffer from a bunch of disorders, and I wont let it happen to my daughter. Its either protect her from things or just be like everyone else and get her vaccinated because the government says its whats best! But I don't believe it is.

My step sister didnt get her daughter vaccinated for the first year and she took her to the er because she was sick and two days later cps was at are door and did take her daughter for it. Its called neglect. It took her over 3 months to get her back and they gave her all the vaccines befcore returning her and made sure she stayed up on them.

even though it sounds like you know where to look for such research, i just wanted to make sure you are researching on legitimate sites since any joe shmoe can put something online!!!!! just so you don't read something about one particular vaccine and then come to find out it is a false article!!!!!! but you sound like you are doing great as a mom!!!!

I think dr sears site has a list of vaccine friendly doctors all over the country.  You should be able to even google vaccine friendly doctors, I know there are a few places I found some lists people compiled.  We dont vaccinate because after doing crazy amounts if research we decided it was not whats best for our kids.  In my opinion the risks outweigh the benifits.  Its a very difficult choice though. I live in Montana, our only exemptions are medical and religious.  Doctors will push you to do it, but you just have to get used to standing up and saying what you believe is best for your family.  Unfortunatly in my small area I dont have any vaccine friendly doctors, but I would imagine there is at least a few in sonewhere big like NY. Ive gotten a phonr call twice, one from the hospital where we used to go, and one from the school when my daughter was supposed to start kindergarten letting me know they were behind on there vaccines. They never said anything else.  We chose to homeschool our kuds, so we havent had to deal with the school part.
