visitors when the baby arrives.

Im going in on monday morning to be induced. My family knows this. My mom will be watching our 3 year old for us for a night or two so we can enjoy the baby in the hospital.

My question is: with my first baby, everybody, hubbys family and mine, showed up right away to see the baby. I had maybe 30 minutes to 1hr alone with my baby before i had visitors. They just showed up. It was joyous but honestly this was at night too! This time im having him most likely by the afternoon and i feel like everyone will for sure show up again without talking to me. I dont mind visitors but maybe after a few hours or even the next day when im showered off and all that. With the exception of my mom.and 3 year old. I want my daughter to meet her brother and since my mom is watching her its fine if she comes too. Any suggestions?

Im going to do it so I can do skin to skin and try breastfeeding with this one first. When last time my daughter wouldn't latch or eat so my mother in law came right away.

I agree with Lilseamonkey. Let everyone know in advance that you're going to take the first day to yourself to spend time with your baby and to heal before they arrive then tell the nurses that you are not accepting visitors until the following day. :D They have to turn everyone away and they can't feel bad because you already told them in advance, so it won't be a surprise.

If you want to avoid conflict you can tell the nurses that you want some time alone with baby and hubby and they will turn away any visitors for you, saying its hospital policy to have that time alone and no visitors are allowed until a specific time that you set. Im gonna have to do it too lol
