wanting to get pregnant

i have been on birth control for almost 2 years. my husband and i want to have a baby so i stopped taking them 5 days before the end of my last pack. we are very "active" hoping each time to conceive. the thing is though i am nine days late on my period (according to the date while on BC) i have taken 2 pregnancy tests and both have come back negative. could i be pregnant? i was thinking that maybe i ovulated late, after i stopped taking the pills and that it is just too soon to tell. i am having some of the common symptoms of pregnancy but just lighter versons of them...any suggestions would be helpful...i really would like to get pregnant asap

I was on BC for 4, almost 5 years and I stopped my BC and within two weeks I was pregnant.(Which I have heard is pretty uncommon, I think its supposed to take almost a month for it to be completely out of your system) but I have heard of people getting pregnant on the pill, so its just how your body is and when its best to become a mommy. As for the pregnancy systems and the negative pg test....the first pregnancy i took a test and came up positive right away, the second pregnancy, I took 9 negative pregancy tests, including the one at the doctors until the blook work finally confirmed the pregnancy, unfortunately, both times i miscarried. But i'm sure everything will work out for the best and if you aren't sure if you are pregnant or not, get a blood test, they are 100% sure :) Good luck!
