It's not genetics,  there's nothing that links directly to autism.. Some studies say that eating heavily processed food, smelling car fumes, gasoline, eating poorly washed fruits (pesticides) etc.. May have an effect . But who knows ..

They don't know what causes autism. There are a lot of theories but nothing is proven. Some think that prenatal vitamins cause autism, some think its because of vaccines, others think its something in the water. But nothing definitive.

From what I read and know Autism isn't genetic. My half sister's daughter has Autism. So I've tried to familiarize myself with her needs since she's a low functioning autistic with epileptic seizures and doesn't speak.

I'm pretty sure they haven't even done enough solid research to link autism to chromosomes...

My sister is special.needs never diagnosed exactly what she had but some form of autism and my sis and i wre born after.completely fine. Theres always a chance but theres also a good chance everything will be fine. Both my pregnancies my doc was gonna run tests as i also have a chance of having a child with special needs but i never did the tests as it would not change my mind one bit. My son is 3 and just perfect and im 33 weeks and so far babe has been healthy. Dont stress about it take it one step at a time.

I know after you have a autistic child there is always a chance. But you don't know if that chromosome came from him or his ex so there's potentially not a big chance of it, your doctor will run routine tests and if anything pops up irregular she will tell you, normally if nothing shows the baby will be fine

My aunts first son is autistic and the rest of them are fine. That's the only thing I know, sorry I can't help. But that's for to count for something. .....
