what bottles is everyone planning on buying

With my son i used Avent i still do and i give him regular gerber bottles now too, but im just so confused on what to get for my daughter, Avent bottles are sooo much money and they are super expensive the new bpa free ones for 2 little 4 oz bottles they want freaking 19 dollars thats crazy! if i have to i will get them but i would like not to spend so much, i was thinking about playtex not drop ins just regular, im not sure if it reduces colic though, what are some good bottles, my sister tried dr browns but her daughter didnt like them she uses avent. but doesnt the formula get stuck into the straw, i just dont understand how it works.
anyway! what bottles do u plan on getting and why i need some help i have 8 weeks left lol

Have you checked Amazon.com or ebay? I use Avent all the way! They are expensive but they definitely are the best, in my opinion.

I use Dr Browns with my son and they are the best in my oppinion. He has frequent ear infextions and had colic . The doctor said if I didnt use these bottles he could have had more ear infections and the colic would have not gotten better almost imeditally. It also helped with the reflux. They are also very price at 14.99 for 3 BPA free bottles! No matter what kind of bottle you decide to use you can look on Craigslist (if there is one in your area) or ebay! Best of luck!

oh man i love playtex drop ins... honestly the best bottles EVER!! they are like 13.96 for a starter pack and if you get them at walmart parents choice makes the liners for 5 bucks for 100 of them... its sooo nice not to have a pile of bottles to do every night.. since the playtex have liners you just disgaurd the liner and rinse the bottle top... i love them.. aubree gets cereal in her bottle and the nipples never get clogged!!!

the nipples are so soft and squishy they feel like a real boob no lie

The avent bottles that I have leak all over the place, maybe it was just a faulty pack. I like gerber bottles I can't remember what they are called but the bottle itself has a triangular shape and hap rubber around the rim. The nipples are very life like, it was the only bottle Noah would use when I first started pumping.

I bought the Adiri bottles for my new baby. They are amazing. They retail for $12.99 a piece and can be found online at babiesrus.com, but you can get them on ebay for cheaper. What I love about them is that they are shaped more like breast, and are soft like one too, so if you are a nursing mom this could be a plus. I am exited to get to use them soon....

GRose- the Avent bottles, and any bottle really, will leak like that if the nipple isn't put on properly. I had that problem quite a bit. All I did was take the nipple off and put it back on. I just had to make sure I got a good suction so it wouldn't leak. Once I got the hang of that we never had any leaks.

I used to work in the baby room of a day care so I have used them all.  I like the PLAYTEX VENTAIRE bottles the best.  They are great.  They are more comfortable to hold due to the curved end.  I'm listing some links of that show what they look like.  The Dr Browns bottles are little an fat so it makes them hard to hold on to if your baby dose not eat fast.  Your hands get tired or go to sleep.   I don't like them.  The playtex drop ins are good too.  They are great but the down side to them is that your baby dose not have to hold the bottle up to drink.  So when you try to get them to drink from a cup they will have a hard time with it because they will need to hold up the cup.  You would have to hold it for them.  Trust me... The babies that were in my class were from 6 months to 1 year.  So I know what I'm talking about.  ;-P   I never cared for the Avent bottles either.  They are not much differant than the Dr Browns bottles.  Go on www.craigslist.com an you can post a free ad saying you are looking for bottles.  I hope this helps.  Anita

The drop ins are great for the first months.  But once your baby starts to try to hold the bottle you need to change to a plain bottles.  I have seen people that have a VERY hard time breaking a child off those.  I have seen kids as old as 18 months that REFUSED to drink from a sippy cup because they had to hold the cup.  Trust me... you can save your self the head ach.  Anita

We tried the playtex drop ins and I really liked them because they were convenient but they gave Jadyn a belly ache.. We use the Dr Browns.. I know you can find them on ebay for a reasonable amount.. my friend did that.

new mommy- I think the straw in the browns bottles is to act as kind of a vaccum.. it holds the air bubble that way they dont go into babies belly and give them an upset stomach.. you dont have to do anything with them.. you just put the milk in.. stir it up.. put the straw in with the yellow piece attatched and put the nipple on.

I would only buy a couple and WAIT to get the rest! We spent a ortune on bottles from Avent, NUK and other places and we can't use most of them because our babies have been in hospital for the last ten weeks so are past the newborn teats! They have reflux because they are premature so have to have thickened feeds and this rules out some teats and they get wind which is hard to get up (also because they are preemies) so we have ended up buying Dr Browns. Plus you can only sterilise bottles just before you use them so we have twins and actually only need four bottles at the moment.

my daughter can hold the drop in bottles herself... ( probably because shes a little piggy and wants the food faster than i give it to her).. they are a little fatter than normal bottles.. we started aubree out on the ventaire and they are awesome.. i just got tired of washing all the parts and then we would loose some parts.. and the dr. browns bottles... ick.. they made aubrees reflux worse.. so i hated those.. the cereal would get stuck and it was aweful.. i like the avent ones just they were to expensive..
