so i went to my 36 wk appointment today. doc sd im NOT dialeted :'( .. she said my baby Dec dropped since my belly is so low n my vajayjay is swollen., my cervix is softening.. but not dialeted!  ugh..  is that a good thing or what!?

Things can happen over night, dilation doesn't mean much in relation to when you will labor ..I was dilated for weeks and still went over. Don't worry. 36 weeks is too early anyway. Babies lungs aren't ready yet. And you wouldn't want baby to need help breathing when born.. I'm 39 weeks and would love the option of going overdue but due to health reasons I have no choice and have to be induced on due date..I would much rather suffer for two more weeks ans go naturally. Keep your chin up, but baby will come when ready.. I know, its frustrating. I'm very fed up myself good luck x

Well My Dr Told Me At 40 Weeks That I Was Like An Iron Maiden... It Wasn't Until 12 Days Past My Due Date That He Induced Me Because My Cervix Finally Decided To Do Something. My Baby Was Born 13 Days Past Due. But Then I Only Had An 8 Hour Labor. I Know What You Mean That You Wasn't To Hear Good Numbers But 36 Weeks Is Sill To Early To Have A Baby. Hang In There. Your Baby Will Be Born When Its Supposed To Be. :) And Your Body Will Do What It Needs To Do. Sorry For The Caps. My Phone Its Being Weird

At my 37 week appt I had no progress whatsoever. I had my baby at exactly 38 weeks and had no idea that she was coming! I also dilated at the hospital from 1-10 in a few hours without any contractions! So don't worry it really can happen fast

I've been walking not sure what else to try! Didn't want to get primrose oil hubby not wanting sex anymore... I'm not progressing either! 36+5 not thinning or dilating

i was just hoping to hear ur dilated n 50-70 effaced!  what can i do to help this baby come now!!!  lol

Well at least your cervix is making progress, and it might take some time for the dropping to help your cervix (if it does, some women it doesn't). My first I didn't dilate or anything until I was in active labor, I went in on my due date and was 0cms and no progression of cervix, and woke up to bad contractions that night, had him the next day, it can happen very quick!
