If its too high they'd put you on a blood thinner like lovenox to reduce your risk of developing clots. Slightly elevated can still be considered normal though as long as it doesn't keep trending upwards.. And if it was too high it would be harmful to you before it's harmful to baby.
Thanks. Is it like serious? Or harmful to the baby? I just found out I have gd and they said my platelet count was a little too high but not by a lot. They didn't tell me anything else.
Platelets are what helps clot your blood, they all group together. Low platelets puts you at an increased risk for bleeding, but high platelets put you at an increased risk for excess clotting, such as DVTs... If its too high they may start you on something like lovenox
