thanks everyone. I know that its mostly genetics and i know i will get some, i just want to try and keep the stretch marks i do get to be small and minimal. I think i am going to try vit E oil (or Bio oil) and the palmers cocoa butter

I use Palmer's and Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I know it sounds crazy, but it keeps your skin soft. Just a bit oily. So far I only have 13 days left til my induction and just have one tiny little stretch mark that DH swears he can't see by my belly button piercing. But...it's all genetics and the rate you gain the weight.

honestly, it does depend on the elatisticy of a womans skin. depending if your skin stretches well or not will depend on how many stretch marks you get..thats what my mom told me who is a nurse and ive asked another nurse and they all say you can use lotion but nothing helps 100% but palmers lotion will help, also bio oil, and sesame oil. i would just rub it on twice a day until you get farther along then rub it on three times a day and make sure that your skin is always hydrated..GOOD LUCK!

p.s.  I also went from 115 lbs to 180lbs when pregnant with my daughter.  I just used tons of palmers!!!  I would use like a bottle a week.  no streach marks, but start using it NOW.  get the moisture into your skin.  Don't scratch the itches.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but it worked for me.  I have never found a streach mark.

I used palmers coco butter a few times a day when I had my daughter.  I would grease up so much!  don't forget your breasts, hips & thighs.  (not just the stomach)

I am happy to say that I don't have a single streach mark from that pregnancy.  However, I do have naturally oily skin, so maybe it is a bit more elastic.

now I am 13 weeks & I'm just using regular coca butter.  I started trying with the palmers, but couldnt stand the smell (doesn't smell bad.... it just has a specific smell.  I have been so sick & nauseous that I can't use it.  it just reminds me of being pregnant & miserable)

I used Palmer's every day. and I still ended up looking like I was accosted by Freddy Kreuger.. Sorry to say, I think it's genetics.. You'll either get them or you won't.. =(  I know, probably NOT what you wanted to hear..

all you can try is the lotion..id do anything with vitamin e, elastin, and collagen. i researched hardcore when i was pregnant and thats what i read to be the most important.
also dont scratch when you itch! that makes stretch marks appear.

I'm only 32 weeks and I think it is mostly genetics but I don't have any. I have used shea butter and cocoa butter blend for years now. Just a habit and I like the way it smells.

Girl, I tried everything you could imagine. Nothing can prevent them, sorry to say. I barely had any pre pregnancy and by the time I was only 20 weeks, my stomach looked like a road map. Sadly, if you are going to get them, you are going to get them....

Also, I even stayed within weight limits and gained the recommended25- 35 lbs and still got them... but they are ALL worth it =)

I used Palmers Cocoa Butter twice daily, along with the oil from the moment I found out I was pregnant.  I too had a few stretch marks prior to pregnancy from weight fluctuation on my hips they were white and didn't look too bad.  I lucked out until I was about 35 weeks pregnant then everyday there were more and more of them.  Now my son is 4 months old and I have them faded because I keep using the cocoa butter.  I don't mean to scare you, but if you are going to get them it will happen no matter what.  Although the lotions help fade them and makes your skin super soft, so it helps with all of that itching from the stretching =)
