what is your biggest labor fear?

I know a lot of women get overly concerned with tearing! My biggest fear with my daughter was that I'd cave and get an epidural. Well, I didn't! But she did end up in the nicu for a few days, so my biggest fear this time is actually infection from the cervical checks! I'll be refusing to get checked this time if I can!

I'm also terrified by the idea of a c section lol!
In general, birth is beautiful and wonderful and it's easy to get through, considering that it's the hardest thing you'll ever do!

Cervical checks are where the nurse/doctor sticks their fingers inside to check how far you're dilated. It's a small risk of infection, but after your water breaks the risk grows a ton. My baby girl was in nicu because she had a fever and my water had been broken for a hundred plus hours before she was born (very rare for modern obstetrics to let you go that long, but it was my preference). A fever in a newborn is a very serious thing ands they treated her with antibiotics in case of infection.

Definitely afraid of tearing, God it just sounds so painful, and what if it doesnt go back to normal down there. Ugh terrified of it. That and I'm not afraid of a c section really, I just do not want one I want the whole birth experience.

I'm scared of all of it.. The whole process terrifies me.. But mainly pain and tearing.. The pooping thing doesn't have much appeal either.. Why does every part of being pregnant have to be so gross!?

I know it sounds weird but throwing up. I'm used to being sick but a week ago I was in labor and delivery and out of nowhere I began puking, that on top of back to back contractions was awful. My bf had to leave the room it went in nonstop for almost 20 min the smell was horrible and I was just convulsing. I so don't want to do that ever again :'(

I'm afraid of my baby having complications and having to stay at the hospital when I leave... So many people are afraid of pooping while giving birth, I think its odd.I hope I poop when I give birth because then my hoohoo has more time to heal before I have to poop again and use those muscles that hurt so bad. Think about it, get it done in one motion or be in horrible burning pain twice? And when you poop you won't have an epidural to take the edge off.

My bones not seperating my moms didnt seperate with either me or my big brother. With my brother she tried give birth vaginaly and she pushed so hard it broke all the blood vessels on the right side of her body and she was all bruised up. She had to have an emergency c-section.

I wasn't scared of anything until I read a story on here the other day about a woman dying during childbirth, now that's my fear. A fear of leaving my child with no mother and not being able to bring him up

Im afraid not to get epidural.
To have a C section.
To be in labor a long time.
I pray for my baby to be ok and healthy.
To get epidural then have it not work or ware off.

I have a friend who had a fourth degree tear resulting in an obstetric fistula. It was over a year before she was considered fully healed, a couple of surgeries and months out of work and not being able to pick up her beautiful baby boy for fear that she'd continue to tear. That's my biggest fear.

To a couple of ladies above - pooping HAPPENS... it is TOTALLY okay. Happened to me with my son, a little bit - my midwife was right by me, she just grabbed a tissue, wiped it away, and nobody ever said a word about it. I was way too busy pushing to be embarrassed. DON'T worry about it! It's a totally natural part of the process and absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

I have no fears with any of that.  Lol the only thing I would fear is if my baby was unhealthy or if i needed a c section. I've had 2 epidurals, been induced once, been cut & stitched & felt it!
