what to do before....

We are looking at ttc (yeah!) in a few months.  Is there anything I should be doing (other than going off b/c) before we ttc??  Should i be taking some vitamins or something???

Thanks for the input... I will definitely start the ovulation tracking and the vitamins / Folic acid.  We eat pretty healthy right now, but I am going to have to force myself to eat more of the fruits....  I might make an appointment just to talk to the doctor about it.

I was told to start taking Folic Acid when i started trying and then for the first 12 weeks when you are pregnant but if you take a pregnancy vitamin then Folic Acid will be in this vitamin anyway so you wont need to take this seperately.  And like the others said cut back on Caffeine, fatty foods etc.. and eat healthy. Good luck!

my doctor said that the script prenatals are the same exact as over the counter.  the main thing you need to do when TTC is have lots of folic acid.  also you can start tracking your ovulation, that will help you inpoint when you are fertile.

your hubby/bf, should also be taking vitamins and eating better etc.

You can get prenatals over the counter but some doctors prefer to put you on prescription ones. When I told my doctor we were going to try and conceive she told me to take prenatals for 6 months prior, even though you dont have to, and she gave me a script to get them.
Other than that....cut back on caffeine..and eat healthy!

Good LUck!!

Start taking prenatal vitamins, excerzise, eat a balanced diet.  Limit the ammount of caffeine you drink, and that's about it.

I went to a ob/gyn and got a complete check up.  I think they did a pap, blood work, and then prescribed me prenatals.  They will also probably give you some information, such as lowering risk factors like drinking, smoking, and eating healthy.
That is about it.  Good luck!
