whats not missing a period mean??

So the past few months I've been thinking I'm pregnant. I've had a lot of symptoms and I know its very possible because I had been having unprotected sex a lot with my boyfriend. The only thing that's making me question is the fact that I'm still having periods..they were pretty regular before a few months ago but they've come earlier and been shorter and overall NOT regular. I know you're supposed to miss your period when you're pregnant but I do know my cousin had hers for the first 3 months she was pregnant.. I just really want some help with why I'd be having periods still, what that means if I take a pregnancy test but technically haven't missed a period, and what that could mean for me or the possible baby? Thanks!!

Well i had a friend who's mom had her cycle the whole 9month she was prego and the dr said there was nothing that they could do. this was normal but rare. Wut type of symptoms have you had? If you truly feel prego then when cycle goes off i would take hpt if the horomone is there it will detect. But if you are not satisfied with results then go to your local health dept or ob/gyn for a blood test.

Technically, it's impossible for a female to have a period while pregnant.

The way it works is every month your body will start to build up a lining in order to support a fertilized egg. You then will ovulate and have a 12-24 hour time frame in which the egg is viable. If it remains unfertilized, the egg is absorbed into the body and you shed the lining in the form of bleeding and/or clots. If it is fertilized, the egg then travels down and embeds into the uterine lining and starts to grow. If this is shed while pregnant, you miscarry. Now, a female CAN bleed while pregnant, but this is NOT a menstrual cycle. It's just bleeding.

In answer to your question, there would be doubts. Symptoms do NOT mean pregnancy, so I wouldn't put much store into them. Desire to be pregnant can cause them, as well as hormonal imbalance, fear of pregnancy, or they can just be normal day to day living. I'm assuming you have the "typical" pregnancy symptoms. These include increased/decreased appetite, nausea/vomiting, fatigue, headache, backache, cramping, sore and tender breasts and/or increased breast size. If you truly believe you're pregnant, I encourage you to see a doctor for blood work.
