This is my first pragnancy and now am 17 weeks but, as per the doctor my baby is already head down position. is it something critical ? i should take any precaution ? it will turn to up ? anyone can advise me about this topic ?
I don't know if my baby is head down but he probably is. I'm due in 9 days. The only change in my belly is that it isn't hard anymore it's soft like jello lol.
i was told by my dr usually at 25 weeks onwards babies will be head down and usually remain head until birth.. mine was head down at 25 weeks and still is at 37 weeks...
im 38 weeks and shes everywhere but head down, ive never seen a baby this freaking active!
I went to my u/s last thursday and my baby girl is already head down. She was 29 weeks then. It kind of depends on the baby. At your next appointment your doc should me able to feel to see if the your baby is head down. Mine told me before my u/s. Good luck.
my little boy has been head down since 32 weeks
as misslollipop said, they have a mind of their own! i have friends that said their babies didn't turn into position till 38 weeks! usually they will discover that position is more comfortable and spacious as they are getting bigger and then reside there till delivery. at my 3d/4d sonogram at 29/30 weeks, my baby was sideways. i asked my doctor about it and he scared me saying, "if she doesn't turn around, we will have to section you!" i did research and learned that rocking on all 4s would help. and, it did! by 32/33 weeks my girl has been in position, head down. for about 10-15 minutes 2-3xs daily, i would get on my hands and knees and rock back and forth. i also learned that this position was comfortable and helped me breathe better because it took some pressure from the baby off of my organs! your girl will turn around in time...i think only 3-4% of babies don't get in the headdown position by delivery. a good way to check on your baby's position if you have trouble telling her head from her butt, is when she gets hiccups. you can feel their little head bobbing with each hiccup. it always eases my anxiety when i worry that she moves out of position (she hasn't, but she is so active and flexible that i do worry about it sometimes!).
they can turn at anytime, my son decided to turn around at 36 weeks while i was shopping, and it was painful. but i think they turn some where before 34 weeks but who knows what a baby plans to do.
