when should i go into labor

last tuesday at my dr apt i was barely dilated to 1 and dr stripped my membranes. Had bloody mucus plug that night and friday after intercourse i had some bloody show and the next day lost more bloody mucus plug (sorry alot of TMI) then continued to have brown pink and red discharge off and on for the next 2 days. had my next dr apt today (tues) and dr said i have progressed greatly over the week. am now easily 1 cm and stretchable to 2 30% effaced and he said my cirvix has come down a great deal more. I am 37+4 weeks and he said i will probably go early but im wondering when that could be. I have read that after you have your bloody show that it usually happens within a week. This is my second baby, first was a week early, would like all your opinions. thanks. oh also i have had like NO contractions, but loose stools and nausea and some back pain.

My due date is not estimated it is exact my partner and I did insemination so we know when we conceived and the measurements are both tape and us. I'm not looking for ppl to criticize me for trying to naturally induce, I am full term and have the ok from my dr. I was just here to get your opinion on when my labor could possibly start according to my symptoms. Thank you.

Measuring "big" is not a medically necessary reason to induce labor (and yes, a membrane sweep is a low intervening way to induce labor). The more your doctor messes with your body to bring on labor the more your chances of having an epidural and/or cesarean. Let your body do what it needs to do. Why the huge rush anyway? Just relax and let baby decide when the right time to come will be.

A water birth and pushing while squatting will open up your pelvis wide to accommodate a baby whether they're 7 lbs or 10 lbs. And you can refuse Pitocin just as you can refuse any other medical intervention. By pushing your body into labor before it is ready you're increasing the likelihood of being put on Pitocin and not having your water birth. I promise your body will know what to do when the time comes.

Is this by tape or ultrasound. Tape is often wrong and doesn't mean much of anything, and as ultrasound gets done further into pregnancy they're more inaccurate. There are so many women who get told baby is over 10 pounds and get rushed into labour and c-sections and when baby is born weighs 6 pounds. Baby will come when ready, and it's best to not make them come sooner. Due dates are only estimates and can be wrong.

The bleeding could just be because he irratated your cervix. As far as stripping membranes it only works 50% of the time. One girl on here had it done 4 times and ended up having to be induced. Dilation and effacement don't really mean anything either. I was 3 cm and 85% effaced for months and told I would deliver early. I was even put on bed rest due to the scare of pre term labor and still delivered at 39 weeks. At 38 weeks I literally tried everythibg possible to get her to come out and it didn't happen. It all just depends on when baby is ready.

Yeah he stripped me because I'm measuring big and I want to do a water birth so I can't have pit. And with babys size we don't wanT to go over. I'm just getting so anxious! I just want these contractions to start already! Baby is measuring at 39 weeks right now so hopefully he won't get too much bigger:/

Why were your membranes stripped at 37+4 weeks?  Most won't induce until 38 weeks.  Babies are very smart and will come when they are developmentally ready.  Hopefully, you will go in 3 more days or so.  When it is your second baby, you can be 1-2 cm for several days (3-4 is common) but he stripped the membranes so probably not too much longer.  Goodluck and congratulations.
