why did my antibiotics fail.

so I was on antibiotics last week for a uti. I can only take 1 pregnancy safe antibiotic as we found out last month I'm allergic to the rest. But I finished taking it Monday and I'magill having the signs of a uti, shooting pains in my stomach and feeling sick and non stop peeing. These are the symptoms I have had the last to months when I have had a uti. But how come my antibiotics didn't work or am I just unlucky and got another uti straight away.

Some people have urinary tract infections that keep coming back or that do not go away with treatment called chronic UTIs, if you have a chronic UTI you may need antibiotics for many months, or stronger antibiotics may be prescribed... and some UTIs are resisitant to certain antibiotics which can be tested through a urine culture...but its hard to know for sure unless you talk to your Dr and unfortunately pregnancy and UTIs can go hand in hand for some women... it is very important to get treatment as soon as possible to prevent increase infections along the urinary tract, which can become very serious... good luck!

Perhaps, the strain of bacteria causing the UTI is more resistance to the one type of antibotics you can take... You might need another course..

Did you take them exactly as directed because that can be a factor even if your off by one pill...

I would get some 100% cranberry juice or pomagrant juice, and start drinking alot of that... it could help flush your system.. When I had my UTI, I did that and it cleared up pretty quickly...
