why wont i ovulate? cervix question..please help!

hi! This is a bit of a weird question to ask but I recently went looking for my cervix and found it for the first time..its sort of feels like its sticking out a long way from the vaginal wall....this will sound a bit strange ..like a giant pimple or a cone volcano type of shape...anyway... i dont understand what they mean by during your cycle your cervical position changes. Does your cervix move slightly closer to the entrance of your vagina so its easier to reach or does it get shorter like as if you were to pop the pimple and it would get smaller. ..I think this is beginning to sound really weird but its difficult to discribe.I can feel my cervix but cant reach the opening. My temps have spiked and I was wondering how soft is soft when it comes to a cervix...myn feels kinda like the tip of my nose.  I had a negative opk test and I guess I'm a bit ticked off and confused. Help anyone... if yourve understood anything I wrote! lol.

Hi. I check my cervix on a regular basis but it is important to remember that cervical changes happen differently in every woman. It is written that when your ovulate it is supposed to be soft, high, open and wet (SHOW) but after you ovulate it should go back to closed and firm. Mine really hasn't changed enough for me to even notice, but it is not the same in all women. Soft feels kinda like your earlobe or your lips depending on how it happens for you. Hope this helps!

It changes but for some it feels like the tip of a nose.  When you are ovulating it gets shorter and really soft and the opening gets a little wider.  Sperm is sort of designed to go in it and through it, specially when you are ovulating when its soft and high and open sperm gets in it easier but those little s*ckers are so small that they fit through anything!
Don't trust the position of your cervix to know if you have ovulated or not.  A lot of women ovulate later than their calculations.  once you have established a temperature pattern, you will have a better idea of when to use the OPK.  Also check other O symptoms like the cervical mucus or pain on your side, etc.

To answer your position question, when it is low, it is closer to the opening of your vagina and easier to reach, when it is high, it is pointing more toward the back, further in and may be more difficult to reach, It will not flatten out like a popped pimple. Every woman is different. The only way for you to know the difference is to check it regularly and compare those feelings. It takes time to figure out the different feelings of your cervix. Good luck.
