wic babyshower?

I'm curious to know if wic does babyshowers for moms who need a little bit of help. i have two and a half months till my little one gets here and my fiance and i don't have the money to get everything. we're moving next month and trying to get our truck fixed before she comes. our families help out as much as they can but i feel bad for relying on them all time. I've been on wic since june but just never had reason to ask them about it cause we weren't pressed for money then.

That's awesome that medicaid does that!! Unfortunately they don't offer that where I am which is sad because lots of mothers here need the extra help.

Wow, I guess in some states WIC does do baby showers! How great is that.  I live in a. Small town in California. And they do not help out with baby showers.. =\ But they do help with the car seat & breast pump. Once again Good luck!

I don't think they do baby showers. But they should help with a breadtpump and carseat. My midwife office does baby showers I wish all doctors offices did that for women who need help.

Must we be so rude?!? I thought this was a place TO ask questions AND get help! It's amazing to me how some can be so insensitive to someone else's need. As a SW your comment appalled me greatly. Now that I've said my piece, let's all carry on #keep the positivity going

Here in texas discroll(medicaid program) has babyshowers for all pregnant mommies they have it  in 3 sesions its kinda like a baby shower with games and food but also they give u alot of info likewhat to eat, how to know when ur in labor, what smoking does to ur baby, alcohol and what u need to take to the hospital its real fun plus they give u 20 dls gift cards for heb in every sesion and at the end of the 3 sesions a free car seat:) u should ask if they have it in ur state in any medicaid program ur in:) goodluck to u i hope u get ur babyshower

@1emc It's rude people like you that need to get off this app. She was simply asking a question. If you have no idea what it's like to struggle, next time don't bother commenting.

@1emc i do have help from family, but they only have so much they can help with. i asked because i had been told by my mil because she is also stuggling with money and has another grandkid due next month. she was trying to find a way to help since she can longer help like she was. i don't expect the government to give me a baby shower, but as there is not any places in my town that help families, i was checking into it.

thanks ladies. my mil had told me they did but i had a feeling that wasn't right. they have a church help center in the town next to me, so i will probably check that out. i have an appointment next week for a breastfeeding class through wic and i just wanted to find out before i went so i could bring it up then. i really appreciate the help.

Did you seriously ask if wic does baby showers ? A baby shower is not mandatory .. your just blessed if you have a family friend or your own finances that allow you to have one. Wth would the government give you a baby shower ?

Yes, like Staceyyyyy91314 said, Try reaching out to your community's Free services to families in need. I found a few Church sponsored programs that help you in my area. Do some research, because WIC will not help out with baby showers. Good luck with your pregnancy.

Set up a Gofundme account online and spread it through your Facebook or IG. anonymous people will donate toward the fund. Good luck!

Have you tried googling places/centers/churches who have programs to give? I know in my area, they give you coupons for free baby stuff if you go through certain programs.
