How has everyone's job been? Has your duties/ responsibilities changed? My work seems to think its ok for a pregnant woman to push 100 pounds or more carts around and lift stacks of blue jeans..it really hurts my belly and strains my body. Anyone else having issues at work?

I'm a manager at a deli, just had to cut my hours down last week at 36 weeks because it's getting so hard to stand for longer then 20 minutes at a time. My last day is Sunday, I'll be 38+ 1, I'm so excited and scared to leave all at the same time. I got a doctors more around 13 weeks stating I had a five pound lift limit because I had sprained my back, and my work is still honoring that note even though my back has been healed since march. Definitely talk to your supervisor about the lifting, and if they don't listen, go over their head to their supervisor. It is unbelievably easy to injure yourself while pregnant (I sprained my back carrying a normal size load of laundry, for example) depending on where you are, you also have the right to refuse unsafe work, which carrying 100+ pounds totally is. After 20 weeks you're not supposed to lift over 25 pounds, and after 24 that drops to twenty. Please be safe!!

I worked until 32 weeks.  I could have stayed later cause I had a easy job.  I was a manager at a electronic store.  Sorta like radioshack but in canada.  I mostly sat at my desk and did paper work and watched over my employees.  All big stuff that needed to be done I'd book my strong guys in for or my bf would show up and help.

I'm a Care at Home Manager at the moment so mainly my job was ok cause I sit at a desk doing rotas etc for my staff, or I go out to do reviews at clients' houses.    Which was fine, except when I was on Call, if someone came off and we couldn't get the call covered I'd have to go do them myself, I had to help the other carer hoist clients etc which you shouldn't if pg, and Thursdays / Fridays were long days like 7am - 11pm to make sure the weekends were all covered, it was a really stressful job which made me have an early labour scare at 29w. I got bedrest for a week then went back on the condition I couldn't work those hours, then the Dr signed me off at 34w til babes arrived.  If you find the work is too heavy, speak to your Dr and he can put you on light duties x

I'm a home health provider for my parents so... Easy breezy. I go whenever I want. And they're cool with it.

See I may have it lucky.  I work at a bar/restaurant and I work with all my friends and best friends. We're kinda like a lil family there. And we're not like most food places. The servers don't have to sweep mop roll silverware and stuff. We have a person we hire to come in and clean. So our duty is change trash which the cooks usually do for us girls anyways. Fill katchup bottles. And that kind of stuff. We do have to wipe tables down and put up the chairs. Which is no biggie. But I have a really good support team there. And I also bartend. And in about a month or so I am strictly just going to bartend. For safty reasons out on the floor. Fights break out sometimes or my boss is worried the floor will be packed and ill catch an elbow or somthing. But they are all great about it. They make sure I eat and drink, feel ok and all. My best friend even goes next door to the gas station and always buys me goodies lol. The girls at work already insisted on a baby shower. I would just talk to your place of work about your limits. Or have ur dr write up a note.  If it hurts you they shouldn't make you do it.

I am a food service worker. And I have dr orders not to lift over 25 lbs. I have to have other people lift the racks of silverware and the floor mats when its my job. But everyones been really nice about it. I have no problems yet with the rest of my dutys. But I know the bending over is gonna pose an issue soon. I'm 22 weeks
