you'll feel better soon <3. I'm on antibiotics currently for an upper respiratory infection/bronchitis and all it makes me feel is a little nauseous...so make sure to take it with food!!!
hang in there hon :)
the doc just called and called in a prescription for antibiotics...said its most likely a uti and there's no harm in taking the antibiotics
so we'll see what happens....staying hopeful
I think you're fine then...with my UTIs I always used to get burning occasionally that came and went for a week or so before it hit full-blown. Sometimes I could head it off by drinking enough water and the symptoms would never worsen...but I had several when I was pregnant with my daughter, and one so far with this pregnancy...and they never caused miscarriages but definitely caused spots of blood in my urine.
like I said don't worry just wait and see what they say, drink lots of water, and go in if the pain gets worse or if you start feeling pain in your back.
hang in there I'm sure he'll call you back soon!!!!
no...the on call doc hasnt called me yet...grrrr
you def helped calm me down...the pain is gone...it only burned a few time when i urinated...but it seems fine now...weird...i have noticed that my vagina (sorry if tmi) is really dry ever since ive been preg...dont know if that has something to do with it
i will stick to water and wait for doc to call...no specs of blood since and no cramping...and im still nauseas so i think everything is going to be ok
thanks for writing
cranberry juice is actually not advisable once a UTI is suspected...cranberry juice is GREAT to prevent them, but my urologist that treated me for both UTI/kidney infections and kidney stones says that because it's so acidic it can irritate your UT system and worsen your symptoms, and it doesn't actually fight OFF the bacteria, it just helps prevent the overgrowth before the fact.
that being said...you definitely need to get it treated if it goes from uncomfortable to painful. you don't want it to cross into your kidneys, or affect the placenta.
unless the infection gets REALLY out of control (like you let it go for a week or more) you should be absolutely fine. obviously everybody's infection threshold is different, but you should be fine after only a few days.
they advised that I take the AZO (the OTC medicine to treat the symptoms) when I was pregnant and had a UTI, however I was on antibiotics as well. you don't want to take it without being seen first because you could be covering up worsening symptoms and the infection could get worse without you noticing because you can't feel the burning or pain...so I would hold off until your dr okays it or you start on antibiotics.
for now, water water water (best thing to drink) and if you start to feel extreme bladder pressure or the burning becomes too painful, go to the ER immediately.
here's hoping the doctor's called you by now and I've wasted my time, but if not I hope this helps!!!
feel better <3
the er here is horrible...they will do an u/s but wont tell me anything and it takes forever to get through the er...i have an u/s on monday so i can wait...im still waiting for the on call doc to call me
there hasnt been any more specs of blood and im drinking cranberry juice...think im gonna take a shower and try to relax....
i was worried that i would have m/c today or tomorrow from it...i really would like to just see my doc on monday if i can wait that long
Yep! That is exactly what mine felt like. If you go to the ER and complain of cramps or something along those lines not only will they test for a UTI but they'll give you an ultrasound as well (just say you think the pregnancy is ectopic).
thanks....im just waiting for the doc to call back...our ER's here are awful and i really didnt want to have to go
does it sound like i have UTI?
UTI's can cause spotting and are actually really common in pregnancy. As for causing a miscarriage I dont think it can unless left untreated. There isn't anything you can get at the store other then those pills that will cause the urgency to leave but wont actually cure anything. You need to get onto antibiotics.
