worried about delivery

I just had my 35 week appointment today and my doctor says the baby is VERY low. So low in fact that she almost didnt check my cervix because she knew it would be really uncomfortable for me. She decided to do it anyways and it looks like Im dilated to a 2 and 60% effaced and what is left she tells me is really soft. She is "hopeful" that I will go 37 weeks but would be really surprised to see me go a full 40. When things happen they are gonna happen pretty quick is what she told me.

My problem (or worry more like) is that when I had my first I didnt know I was in labor (i went into to be induced when we realized I was at a 6) and my contractions never became regular until right up to when she popped out. Im so worried about an emergency delivery on the highway or something. Im just so nervous about this especially considering my husband works nights.

Any positive thoughts or comments would help I think

Well my mom lives close so that is nice, it helps put me at ease. I know that every labor is differnt so im just hoping that will be the case here.

Take it easy the next couple weeks, no vigorous activity, definitely no intercourse. If your water breaks head to the hospital. If your hubby is at work, don't be afraid to call an ambulance. Do you have a family member or friend who could stay with you while your husband is at work in case you do go into labor? Each labor is different, so just because you didn't feel contractions with your first one, doesn't necessarily mean you won't with this delivery. Call you doc if contractions start. Are they going to have you come in more frequently to check your cervix? And above all, call the doc or hospital if you have any concerns. That's what they're there for! Good luck :)

thanks girls. I know no one can tell me exactly what I want to know (the exact day and time baby will appear) but I appretiate the comments.

I think that the only thing you can do is try to relax and make sure that if you have any doubts at all make sure you go to L&D or call your doctor and definitely keep all of your appointments so they can continue to check you and just follow your doctors orders.... I hope things go well!
