BTS is right, Zithromax is safe. I had to take it for Skin infections (called a Zpack but same thing) it works fine.

yup, it is 100% safe to take during pregnancy. And it's a godsend of a medication lol. I had a double ear infection, double sinus infection, and stage 1 phumonia(sp), and Zithromax had me cleared up and feeling better withen the same night of taking it. I was also worried to take it at first, so I called almost every pharmacy in town and asked about it, and I got the same answer, which is it's safe, and I even called my doc and double checked with him lmao.

Zithromax does cross into the placenta, but not as much as other antibiotics. It's a strong antibiotic, but only about 3% of the drug actually crosses to baby, other antibiotics have about 50 to 70% cross to the baby. So I trust it more than anything else.

And if they stick you on a steroid....prednisone is the way to go.....that doesn't cross the placenta at all.
