I was prescribed zophran it never worked for me I had the worse morning sickness it lasted all day I could not eat anything. The only thing I found to work was when my doctor prescribed me promethizen for nausea. You could try asking your Dr about it

Lol everyones going to have individual results, not everyone has the same side effects. And have u looked up the side effects and warnings for other anti nausea meds. The Dr gave me another kind along with zofran. And it said it could cause your muscles to mess up and make your face droop. I was like no way!! I have thrown up on days where i've skipped the zofran I only take it if I really need it, which is more often then not.

Never taken zofran was prescribed something else for sickness but never took it if  u feel it doesn't work or u are nervous about taking it ask doc to switch u to something else I'm really not sure what is up with this zofran but from what I read it was only approved for sickness in cancer patients so not really sure why so many docs are still prescribing it to pregnant woman when there are so many other drugs out there that are approved for use in pregnant woman but all drugs have risks u just have to do what u feel is right for u

I took Zofran up until I was 12-13weeks I didn't wanna take any pills but I had no choice I was throwing up way to much  I'm 33weeks now and my baby boy is ok
Try ginger ale and water that what worked for me .
I was on 8mg every 4-8hours I think but I try my hardest not to have taken them.  Good luck!!

Oh, and to clarify, I took it during labor.  When I head early pregnancy morning sickness, I felt nauseated a lot, gagged frequently but wasn't full on vomiting.  so, I managed through it.  during labor, I was vomiting and that is where I draw the line.  If your stomach is emptying, you have to do something to help.  good luck

I did have success with Zofran in both of my pregnancies with no issues.  It's so commonly used and has a good track record.  If you need it, you need it.  good luck dear and I hope you feel better.

4everinlov- yes morning sickness is part of pregnancy but when a mother cannot keep water down or eat at all it can become dangerous. The mother can become very dehydrated which can be very serious. Also if your baby isn't getting the fluid it needs it can harm the baby. I had to try gatorade it worked wonderful. Also small frequent bland meals. I had a hard time with water. I also drank sprite. But the Gatorade will keep you hydrated just make sure to still drink water! Zofran didn't work for me, I had to be switched to diclegis. It was much better. Also your prenatals can be making you sick. I had to switch to gummies with no iron, until I got past the morning sickness.

B12 is a water soluable vitamin that really helps, you will urinate and excess in your body and has no known effects to the baby, that and ginger tea works wonders! I was offered zofran but my declined and my doctor suggested that combo and it stopped me from being sick, and I was the same way as you throwing up water or anything at all. Also benedryl works good too just can't take it as often. Hope this helps!

I took zofran one time at the beginning of my pregnancy and I'll never do it again. It made me feel HORRIBLE. I was light headed and tired and I just felt like someone strapped a 100 pound weight on me. It sucked /:

Its always worked for me. I still take it regardless of what others say. It helpsme for 1 and 2 when I asked my doctor about the birth defect talk she said there is no proven facts that the medicine in fact causes the defects. She said all this talk came from lawyers, same as when there was all the talk about yaz and other birth controls. I'll take my chances, a perfectly healthy mother that takes no medicine could create a baby with defects.

Do what's best for you.  Take the Zofran if it helps.  Don't let other people try to scare you from doing what you need to.  People are always looking for something to blame and at the moment it's Zofran.  Next week it'll be because you're breathing wrong.  Maybe it's just a little bug.  Had one of those this weekend and the Zofran didn't really help too much either.   Hope you feel better!

If you take zofran there is a 30% chance of birth defects. So it doesn't effect evey women who take it but there have been mothers that suffer.
